Subdivision of Suspension into 'Budget' and 'Advanced'?

As the title states, I think separating the Suspension section into 'Budget' and 'Advanced' could be beneficial to the community. I feel there is an irreconcilable difference of opinions that might as well be addressed to reduce the flaming that goes on every time someone posts about a new colour of cheap coilover. Err, brand. Not colour...

Anyways, since the people buying shit, er... cheap coilovers don't actually care about measurable performance (no matter what they say), they can all hang out together and pat each other on the back or internet high-five each other or whatever. They always justify any sub-par performance by the low price anyways, so 'Budget Suspension' is a reasonable title I feel.

By calling the other side 'Advanced' rather than Expensive implies a technical expectation rather than just a higher price. So a higher qualification of components being discussed is also implied. So the parts with more marketing than technical development can be pushed over to Budget, since they are typically cheaper than the real deal anyways. Also since it is 'Advanced', inexpensive but well developed parts (RCE or GC springs/Konis) are suitable as well.

Anyone think there is something that can be worked out with this?

It's just you suspension elitists. I'm selling my Penske's for those new TokiHariShamadanshi coilovers, they are only $800 and feel just fine and make the car like a gokart!

So, you don't think this belongs?

"The order of suspension want is Ohlins, Tein, and Stance."

Since go karts have no functioning suspension, the analogy isn't actually that bad.

@Calum the division would prevent serious head injuries to the 'elitists who are just brand-whores since Ohlins are just the same as K-Sport for ten times the price suckas' from all the face palming at posts like that.

Seriously, its annoying and makes me depressed that the human race is actually dumber than the already tragically low standard I hold them to.

Couldn't you just bundle it all into the aggressive wheel thread?

Don't let this thread die. In all honesty, I love this idea- there is just such a HUGE difference in the "whatever, i want to get low" price camp.

From someone who works with and sells suspension 10 hours a day, this is near and dear to me.

Maybe a "Basic suspension" and "Advanced/ Track" Section. That way feelings don't get hurt... Since that seems to be a big problem on the net, but hey, it it helps advance the education of people who own these cars.

Special attention is definitely paid attention to the chassis of this platform, after all that's why most of us bought one.
