Let me see if I can do some currency conversions, interesting info.

Update: looks like the RC will be at most $25.5k, good news?

chate 01-14-2012 10:52 PM

1 Japanese yen = 0.0130 US dollars
as of 6:50pm on 1/14/12

So 2 million yen= 25987USD

Cars in JP are usually more expensive than USA in general right? So maybe the rumored 24,999 MSRP of the FRS isnt too far off

scratch that...its prob a lot cheaper seeing as the Limited top end one would convert to 38k USD which seems kinda redonk

It is very difficult to do a direct conversion to make it worthwhile. However the closest use would be to compare cars of similar price in Japan to the price of cars here in the US.

chate 01-14-2012 11:05 PM

Whats a quick website for japanese car prices?

Korupt56 01-14-2012 11:08 PM

Only real way to know is to wait and find out when they officially release prices for the US

cassidy0998 01-14-2012 11:24 PM

When comparing to other Japanese cars on the market with ours it looks like the RC may come in at around $24,000.

It's hard to know for sure, but I feel like that's pretty close.

:/

Thanks for posting this.

I think we getting the G version. And since there prices are much higher that would mean low 20's in America.

SUB-FT86 01-14-2012 11:58 PM

Also a Z cost 3.6 million yen and have a base price of 30k in America.

chate 01-15-2012 01:14 AM

Lets hope translation is 1 million to 10k USD with all said and done, so like 24.X K USD, can someone translate the column headers in the chart?

Snoopyalien24 01-15-2012 01:18 AM

21k - 22k here we go

TylerLieberman 01-15-2012 01:24 AM

Yeah, always hard to do these types of conversions. You can compare yen to usd currencies but the dollar value in each country is different and won't be straight across. Like when they gave the UK price of like 3x,xxx it came out to $5x,xxx USD. Unfortunately, it doesn't work too well.

A better refrence would be finiding a car sold in Japan and the states. Take the price it's sold in japan for in yen and make a comparison to get an estimate for USD
