what if you dedicated $2,000

So its just a random thought to see what route people would go. Keep in mind try to stay N/A, already have coldair, midpipe, tune(93/E85) and only looking for power mods. Which brand+mod would you go with to maximize performance at the same time getting the most out of your money. budget is $2,000 Go!

Not really much else you could do in terms of power and keeping it N/A. Complete the exhaust, JDL header, frontpipe, overpipe.

I know you said you only want power mods, but in terms of bang for buck, tires or LCA could help you accelerate faster and be under that budget.

sweeney208 04-06-2013 01:08 PM

tires would be the best in my opinion. but if you really just want power for 2k pretty much your best bet is finishing your exhaust. borla header and nameless catback is my fav setup at the moment; nice boxer rumble.

sorry that kinda just repeats what the person above me just said haha

if you want performance not power, strut bars! front and back.

i should have been more detailed..i have some suspension, tire, rim, and appereance mods that im going to keep seperate from the money im willing to spend on power mods. Right now i was thinking complete exhaust, headers, pulleys. Just wondering what brands/mod would people consider given the oppurtunity. Right now im thinking works resonated exhale ab $349... perrins overpipe 305 if it fits the midpipe(ill check on that when i get a chance..either p&l or rev works header...but im sure ill have money left over for me

You'll have money left over for sure. Take a look at a FA20 intake, that should give you just enough for a Unichip or a Visconti tune if you can find someone who already has a cable. THAT will give you a lot of HP for $2000. You basically can't get even close to 200 whp without a good tune.

husker741 04-06-2013 01:31 PM

I wanted pulleys at first but now I'm hesitant because many people have had dealers tell them not to do that if they want to keep warranty. Maybe a catless front pipe to go with your overpipe? I got a catted Invidia one.

JDL header, Overpipe, Frontpipe. $1600 and a re-tune. Done.

Save it for a FI upgrade :-D

ftc~brz 04-06-2013 01:52 PM

I had 2k dedicated: had intake already. I went headers back + tune. no regrets.

How bout final drive change, should give you the acceleration if you don't mind losing top end

i was actually thinking of doing that..i dont mind losing top end at all because im not going to see numbers of 120+ very often... so
works resonated 350
perrin or nameless over pipe 300-350
rev works or p&l header 599-799
final drive 749
total 2250 maybe less if i get the right deals
pair these with my coldair, midpipe, e85..retune im hoping for more than 200 on a dynojet or 180 on a mustage/dynodynamics

If it was me, I would go this route. Your already half way to the Vortech kit or FBM turbo kit. Otherwise, headers for sure and a re-tune.

i wish i had the money to do that but i have to keep in mind that a turbo is about $4500-5500 then add installation which is another $1000+ then add clutch...just comes out to more than planned..im more of a looks person so i rather do a little bi of everything to my car...suspension, tires, rims, power, appereance, music, navi
