Optimal Tire Size For Stock Rims

Just curious is to what the biggest tire you could slap on these stock rims and how much who would they be good up to. I'm thinking 235/40s will fit and look descent and would hold up against an AVO stage 1 turbo? Any one hot any pics of big tires on stock rims. Maybe throw some spacers in for a flush fit.

215/45/17. Run an 8" wide wheel for a 225/45/17. :)
