As always, the FT86 Cup is geared toward the grassroots drivers, encouraging both veterans and beginners alike to come enjoy a day at the track. Round 2 will mark the introduction of the new Stock Class, outlined in the rules thread at http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25970

Please give a shout out to Berk Technology, who has signed on as our title sponsor. They will be giving out prizes throughout the year!

@CounterSpace Garage and @Robispec will both be present to give suspension tuning tips, demonstrations of the FR-S and BRZ's capability, and ride-alongs!

I signed up for the 20th how do I get a chance to run this? Is signing up and showing up give me a chance to run this or is there an additional registration I have to do? Thanks

juliog 04-08-2013 12:53 AM

Once at the track you'll need to fill in an extra form for the FT86 Cup (driver name, class, etc..)

Now how does it work is this the best lap out of your sessions or is this a separate session completely unique to the ft86 cup? And if so is it everyone just flat out at once or how does the cup work? New to the ft86 cup thing so dont want to go in blindly thanks.

It'll be based on your fastest lap in sessions 2-4 :) We don't count session 1 so that everyone has time to dial in their tire pressures and make last minute adjustments if needed.

Oh ok so pretty much just running the sessions like normal and just applying the times to the standings then?

Exactly.

If we start getting huge turnouts (20+ cars consistently), we'll be able to negotiate for a Time Attack session, or maybe a dedicated 15 minute session for just the FR-S/BRZ :)

I am posting this also on here, other post is in the thread for the track event on the 20th. So the worst recently happened to my car and i am no longer able to attend the track event on the 20th, i have a giant crack in the windshield that is not easily reparable, its gonna end up being an entire windshield replacement (you can see the pics of the crack on my car journal). So not sure if they are able to do refunds once you signed up for the track event, i havent gotten a reply to my email asking about a refund so i was going to see if there was any way i can sell my entry to another member that wants to attend at the discounted price which would be $125. if your interested and it is possible hit me up.

Windshield replacement is a few hour thing. It won't stop your track day.

It will when you dont have the money to pay for it due to my families quality of life is more important right now. Otherwise it wouldnt be no thing. Trust me man I already tried working out options to get it replaced before the track but like I said taking care of my family is more important and I got blindsided by this. There will be more track days in the future so im not sweating it I just dont want to be assed out 125 dollars.

Have you checked with your insurance policy? A lot of policies cover windshield replacement with zero deductible.

i might actually still be in business been checking a lot of places online and there are some that actually repair cracks up to almost 20 inches so with that i may be still good to go to the track if i can get my windshield repaired sometime early this week. heres hoping i can.

I might have to take you up on that on one of the sessions you and robi would like to see how a more track Set up frs feels. Are you doing ride alongs during all sessions or just during the intermediate session?

All day :)

I'll probably hit traffic in intermediate, so unless you want to be in the car with me riding someone's rear...

Ill proably go outside of intermediate so I can still get my track time in and also get a track ride outside my session

ImperiousRex 04-21-2013 01:29 PM

Sorry I had to cut out a little early but it was great seeing everyone again and meeting a few new folks!

Thanks @WillRacer1jz for helping me figure out my CEL code and identifying my rear control arms issue >.<

As always, although I've been tracking cars for 10 years, I've been sooo impressed with how informative and helpful the community for this car has been! Always makes me look forward to the next event because I know I'll learn something new everytime!

See you all at Chuckwalla :)

D1cker 04-21-2013 02:27 PM

Good event yesterday even though it was hot. Congrats to Robi for beating me (again) :(

evilconcarne999 04-21-2013 03:07 PM

Had fun yesterday, met a couple cool guys and had some convo on the set up of my car, hopefully gave some positive insight to those i talked with. But was great that i got to test out my header on the track and find out some weaknesses i have to address. Had to bounce out early, tires were done and still had a 3+ hr drive back home but hey ill live to track another day.

@ImperiousRex No problem man, just get your alignment fix before you kill your tires. I still cant believe the Cusco LCA jam nut came loose.

It looks like its time for an oil cooler, my oil temp was in the mid 270's all day at the track.
