I will be staying with the FA20 power plant and we are currently working on the proper aero mods to make it happen. I know that you can strap another power plant in this and make great power but that's not what I'm trying to do. As far as what type of recognition I'm looking to receive,well... the answer is none. To me it's a fun to push the limits of the vehicle and myself and driving fast certainly does both.
And this motor can make power. I believe we've seen that in more than one instance.
And if you don't think it can make power that makes a difference then you've never driven a force induced 86.
A big thanks to all that support it and I welcome anyone and everyone to shoot for the same record. That's what progression is all about.

when i go boosted ill tell you if i ever get to 200 (im automatic im geared tall enough for 200 mph :D)

I hit 140s regularly, see no reason why 150 is a big deal.now 160, 170, that gets stupid, fast. I kinda think 140-150 is stupid enough, as I do it regularly. Stuff like chassis rigidity comes to mind, and the rippling of that hood...

So what's the current highest horsepower 86? 600whp+ or thereabout, right?

So there's your baseline. Now you have to top it.

See your moving to Lima soon.
As Best Wheelbase and others said.

You should go to The Ohio Mile. http://www.ecta-lsr.com/
Located at Airborne Park, southeast side of the town of Wilmington, Ohio.
Just off Interstate 71 midway between Cincinnati and Columbus.
Track entrance is off of Airborne Road.
An address to use for your GPS is 2870 Old State Road 73.
This is a business across the street from the entrance of the track.

Next event is June 8th and 9th.

...I'd like to check out your car sometime.

I would suggest that 150 mph, with a NA, BRZ/FR-S would be more realistic ....

That is true, but I dont have a N/A BRZ/FR-S. I have a turbo'd BRZ soooo Im gonna shoot for higher than your 150 good sir.

Please keep us informed of your progress.

Will the gearing allow your BRZ to go 200 mph?

Top Speed

The top speed of a vehicle has almost nothing to do with the mass of the vehicle (apart from bearing friction and tyre losseswhich, in terms of power consumed at top speed, are minimal). The two major factors are power and aerodynamic drag. The equation to get a pretty good approximation of top speed of a vehicle is that relating power to drag:-

http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...pscd9a7cd7.jpg

where P is the power in Watts, r is airdensity (1.3), CD is the coefficient of drag, A is the frontal areain square metres, and v is the velocity in m/s. To see how well this works, lets take, for example, a modern Falcon XR6 and an old 4.1 Cortina.

The XR6 produces about 110kW at the wheels, has a CD of 0.31, and a frontal area of about 2.4 square metres. In the case ofthe Cortina, the numbers are 60kW, 0.48 and 2.2.

To get top speed:

http://i622.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps69420960.jpg

For the XR6, this equates to 66.6m/s or239km/h. The XR6 has been tested at over 230km/h, so this seems prettyreasonable. For the Cortina, the speed is 48.4m/s, or 174km/h, which is prettylineball with the tests for the car. An interesting exercise would be to testthe numbers for your own favorite car, remembering to use power at the driven wheels, not at the flywheel.

And again, note here that it is peak power, not peak torque, which is the important engine performance variable.

Questions ..... ??

What do you figure your car's wheel HP (or in kW's) is?

have you tried doing a max speed run on a dyno yet? might be easier than trying to take your car to the salt flats, or anywhere else you could try, though the readings would be a bit skewed, since, there's no wind resistance.

tried this just for the hell of it when I got my car dyno'd the first time, pulled 139 in 5th, and she wasn't pulling anymore

That would certainly demonstrate if the car was geared for a certain speed. Also, it would indicate the wheel HP, which, along with otherfactors, could indicate the capability for a certain calculated top speed.

Ive actually been out of the country for the last few months so no progress has been made besides a new tune. This wont be an overnight or end with one attempt. I will have a baseline figure of what the car can do in its current form. Im assuming that it wont do too much more than stock but it definitely has the HP to keep it pulling past 139. Once I am able to see where I am then the true planning will begin, and all will be tackled. I hate that I wasnt able to have done more with it already but duty calls and I have to work to be able to afford to play like this. I will try and get a legitimate update in the near future gents.
