Mole on battery connector :(

This is extremely odd, the car is only 9 months old and already got mole on the battery terminal. All the cars I ever had prior to this has never developed mole this fast, am I the only one or are there others out there?

Okay, which one of these do you mean?

Definitely this one. That battery terminal looks delicious.

^clever ;)

Pretty sure he meant "mold", but it's not that either. Oxidation on battery terminals is common, just clean them off real nice and spray them down with copper spray. Felt washers around the posts work well too.

First thing I did was check his location...I'm shocked, they breed smart folk up there according to statistics. Must snorted too much snow.

:)

btw: I don't see mole, don't see crosion neither.

I like this thread, anyone for wind in the willows?

i actually had so much of that on my neg battery terminal the car wouldnt start. im only at 7k miles.

steel brush with baking soda and water will clean that. add dielectric grease to the terminal after its all cleaned and done.

Agreed. Just brush it off.

Be sure to hold the positive terminal with your left hand and lick it off the negative terminal.

Don't even joke about that, it is incredibly dangerous! Positive terminal goes to right hand.

If @LeeMaster doesn't respond soon, we'll have to reasonably assume @FR-S Matt got him killed.

Update - A reasonable amount of time has passed for us to suspect the worst.

Begin Eugoogly:

This is a very sad day for the forum. I hope that my words about my twin brother, @LeeMaster, will help alleviate some of your grief. I would like to share some fond memories and personal attributes that made my twin brother such a wonderful person who lost his life far too soon. He had a lot left to accomplish and it is sad that he isn’t posting with us. However, today we should not focus on the grief, but instead celebrate his senior membership. My twin brother was a wonderful senior member who lived his life to the fullest with 590 posts to his name, of which 144 thanks were given, and would want us to celebrate his accomplishments.

My twin brother was a dedicated and loving driver. He always spoke highly of his vehicles and loved them more than anything in life. Whenever I spent time with his thread, I could tell how much they loved each other. Let’s remember @LeeMaster for all of his great qualities and appreciate the time we posted with him. We should make sure that his memory lives on in all of us for as long as we live. Stickers anybody?
