Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) in SoCal

I wanted to share my experience with the Paintless Dent Repair that I just used on my brand new satin white pearl BRZ that was dented during truck transport to my house. The transport company somehow managed to put 3 dents into the front fender of my BRZ, so as you can imagine, I was furious.

I researched all the PDR places based on recommendations from a number of Porsche, Ferrari, NSX, GT86, etc... car forums, as well as all the highly rated ones on www.yelp.com and www.angieslist.com. I narrowed it down to ten of the best guys that had nothing but positive ratings.

After spending hours researching on-line, I made my final decision based on the experience of the actual guy who would be doing the repair, as many PDR shops have several guys that do the repairs so you never really know who you'll get.

After completing the work, I would highly recommend Mark Davis for PDR work. The work he did was excellent and I don't think anyone would see any hint of damage even staring closely at the fender. (He supports the OC Ferrari dealer with all of their dent repairs) Here's his phone# & website in case you're interested: (714)264-9607 www.mddings.com

His price was very reasonable for the high quality of work performed, and it actually came in under the original estimate. As Mark Davis said himself, "any PDR shop claiming they can only fix the dent to 90% perfect is just making excuses for inferior work." He is mobile, but will give 20% discounts if you group 3+ cars in one spot for repairs.

Glad you were able to fix it. Good to hear that it was fixed.

Thanks so much!
Just got off the phone with Mark.

Don't mean to thread jack, but at the dealer I work at does PDR on Wednesdays. The cost is $125 for a full car, they will do all your dents. Their work is great, they do the dents on all my personal cars. The shop is off Serfas Club / 91 fwy in the Corona auto center. If anybody is interested just PM me and I'll get you their number

Sounds like it's worth it if you have your car for a couple of years & have accumulated dents.

I'm just looking to get 3 dents out from the passenger door panel, so if he does individual panel prices at an attractive price, then I'm in

Wolfkiller 09-14-2013 09:23 PM

Mark is $85 for a dent that is the size of a quarter or smaller and he drives to you. (In OC)

$125 for a full car sounds like a pretty good price but Mark assured me that there would be no evidence that a dent was ever there after he was done. He's even done a couple of Seinfeld's Porsches.

I'd be down for a dent day. My car has been flawless since I bought her almost a year ago and finally some inconsiderate a** had to open his door as wide as it could go yesterday and hit my baby above her sexy front fender. So I only have one dent to get rid of anyway.

Amir Ghadiri 09-15-2013 01:19 AM

@KelvinBRZ I will ask for you!
@Wolfkiller yeah, it's $125 for any number of dents so as long as you have 2+ it's well worth it! You wouldn't be able to tell the dent was there, their work is good

Can't even tell that there was ever a dent there.
Mark did use a ultra fine, micron lever sandpaper on it when he was all done though. Probably, scrapped off my Opticoat. I can see a couple swirl marks. Keep that in mind.

I'm really stoked that the dent is gone :)
Good work Mark.

Nice photos! I'd imagine you should be able to eliminate the swirl marks with some good polish.

Here's a photo of my BRZ that Mark fixed back to new. I put my face on the fender with the zebra lines in the sunlight reflection, and could not see any distortion whatsoever. I always wash and detail my cars myself, so I'm pretty picky.
