That's weird. Did they say it was the oil? And when you said it was coming from the bottom, what exactly is coming from the bottom?

You know as much as I do. there is no way to know what the issue is till they rip it down...if they rip it down. That is up to subaru ... oil is asked about as standard procedure. .. they dont want to pay for it.. so if I did not keep up with my oil changes... thay can deny me my engine repair .. my oil recipts have me right around every 7k so I should be good..... but wont know until we hear from subaru.

If it is what others have had, bet he spun a bearing in the lower end of the engine. There seems to be issue with oil starvation in the lower end causing rod knock and engine failure. At least that is what others have had happen to them on this board.

From what others have posted, if you get all the oil changes at the dealer, no issues with the repair being done under warrantee. If you do the oil changes yourself, the dealer will try every trick in the book to get out of covering the repair.

Hope all works out for you....Keep us posted!

Good luck man,

I had the same issue with my car but my car broke down, the scion dealers said it won't be covered under my warranty.

Did they give you a reason

They said it was the oil filter wasn't screwed on and that caused the oil loss. I told them I changed the oil for 2 years and nothing that can't be the case, they never pulled the codes or anything.
