Factory suspension "sticktion"

It was slow at work today, and I had noticed my steering was a bit off center, so I brought it in for an alignment. One thing I noticed when jouncing the car, was that there seems to be a large amount of "sticktion" as the motorcycle crowd would call it. Basically, if you bounce the car downward and let it settle, and then push it upward and let it settle, you'll end up with significantly different alignment readings, presumably due to the dampers sticking in slightly different locations. My car only has 500 miles, so I suppose it's possible the dampers haven't fully broken in yet, but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this.

I haven't noticed it, but I'd guess it'd be much less obvious when the car is in motion and subjected to all kinds of little hits and vibrations and such that will be constantly keeping the dampers moving. You'll never have a scenario while driving which compresses or extends the damper and then just lets it go.
