Front suspension squeak going over bumps

Just started gettinh this front suspension squeak while going over speed bumps or any bumps that load the front suspension the same time, this weekend. Btw I have 18k on my car. I'm not sure if its sway bar bushings which some of the impreza forums suggest or a blown strut as other impreza sti forums suggest? Going to call the dealer tomorrow and see if I get it looked at before I leave for Florida in 4 days! I'll let you know the result.

What suspension mods have you done to the car?

Sorry, the whole car is completely stock!

I think I found the problem according to this forum
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1971466

Was just looking for confirmation. And if anyone else has heard the sound yet.

I have this sound WHEN COLD. Have not heard it in warm weather and I'm more than sure it's my FRONT suspension.

The thread you linked is a common issue with REAR Impreza WRX/STI suspensions from 04-07, which used an inverted Mac strut. We're using the rear multi-link from the 08+ Impreza WRX/STI.

My car is VERY squeaky when it's cold outside and i've always thought it was my sway bar. I've regreased them but they're still loud. No big deal though, the warm weather will stop it.

As a suggestion with the OE RUBBER bushings try using baby powder. Baby powder doesn't attract dirt and acts as a mold release and lubricant for rubber bushings.

Everything is squeaky outside when its cold. I know how the car feels because I played a few soccer games when temperature was dropping to 0 lol.

Hmm thanks for the suggestions, I was thinking the cold also had something to do with it.

Did you ever find a fix for this? hit the mountains hard this past weekend and started to squeak over small bumps or really anything that puts a load on the suspension. Cant get it to replicate sitting still. Is mainly bad at lower speeds.

Sorry to bring up an old post

Same here... 2014 GT86 with 19,000 km. The winter has come and it has started to squeak on speed bumps. Annoying!
Did anyone find a solution for this?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention: Car is full stock. Zero mods, only one track event. I use it as my DD.
