SCCA RTR Vs C stock
Can someone explain the difference to me? I searched but no luck... not even on google. What is the benefit of one vs the other?

http://darklygaming.com/images/why.png http://scca.cdn.racersites.com/prod/...e%20Rules1.pdf RTR follows C-Stock rules except that you are limited in the type of tire you may run. So if you feel that you like the modification allowances of the stock category, but do not wish to run a dedicated R-Comp tire and would prefer to compete on your Streets, then RTR is for you. Also I’m not sure what you mean by “benefit” but there are no benefits to any of the classes, the point is to try to keep as level playing field as possible. The question is how much modification do you want in your car to feel comfortable and enjoy a day eating pylons, and based on that you end up in a class. Generally, the more crap you put on your car the less competitive it tends to become. “Mod” cars generally have the odds stacked against them, they may set FTD but pax kills them. |

... yeah of course I read the SCCA website... I was just looking for someone to put it in plain English for me. When I was there last year I was told that stock catagory had to run a tread wear of 140 and this year it was being bumped to 180. I figured that ruled out anything but what would be a dot approved street tire. Which to me seemed to be pretty similar to the RTR category. I don't plan on doing any real mods to my car besides picking up a better set of tires when the OEM ones wear out, I am just trying to understand where I would fall depending on the tires I buy. |

je ne tu pas comprende senior por favor arugula dude, it's like right there in the first paragraph, written in plain english "allowed but must have a minimum UTQG treadwear rating of 140." your sources are incorrect. |

If you were there last year, there was a time where a change to 180 tread wear was proposed, but after receiving feedback, that proposal was withdrawn. If I were you, I'd limit myself to 200 or higher just in case the rules get changed again before you wear them out. I also recommend talking to your local guys again - I'm sure they'd be happy to guide you. |

Oh good so I'll see you there then. Reg list shows another FR-s running in novice cstock as well. Should be fun.
