Sorry, I meant to post this link.

Taneisya's wheels are really forged (using an amazing press), unlike many other so called forged wheels.

They make forged wheels for some of the biggest names in the business (Champion, Prodrive, etc).

OrbitalEllipses 03-26-2013 09:52 PM

Forged, 10lbs, $550 a pop before shipping. That's too good to be true!

Oh. 16" derp.

Of course 17x8 +42 has no weight. Assume 6.5kg; 15lbs per wheel for $650ish...not bad. Especially if forged.

JoeBoxer 03-26-2013 11:09 PM

Damn those look good in 18"

Wish i could afford them i would take those over a lot of works or volks in that price range.

RehabJeff86 03-27-2013 03:38 AM

Beautiful wheels

cyde01 03-27-2013 03:47 PM

Those wheels go with the car so well.

Sellout 01-04-2014 04:25 PM

Those 18s look incredible.

Scaldy 01-04-2014 04:59 PM

These might be my favorite wheels. But the 18's look to be around $740 each. Doh!

switchlanez 01-04-2014 05:20 PM

I'm in love w/ these wheels. Some examples:

Hot damn! 18 inchers are only 14.7 lbs!

FreshFRS 01-04-2014 11:31 PM

i saw that they make a 16x7 +35, too bad, if they could build that into a BRZ fitment, those and some 225/50ZR16 AD08Rs would be my new wheel and tire choice!

They can easily make that. They custom make these wheels. There's a customisation page on their website. They don't charge naff all for doing it either.

I'd like to get 16x8 +30 some time later this year.

OICU812 01-05-2014 12:10 AM

I looked at these back near purchase of car. Sent emails multiple times never got any word back, any of out her countries listings didn't respond either. Too bad a vendor in NA didn't carry them as their specs are indeed good.

Thanks for the Info! i'd probably end up picking up a set of Black 16x7.5 +30 Front and +20 Rear. shouldn't weight more than 12lbs a piece and the AD08R's weigh about 22.5lbs so 34.5ish pounds per corner. -6 or 7lbs per corner would be epic.

Captain Insano 01-05-2014 01:15 AM

Nice! Would love some in 16x7

ShutterSpeed 01-05-2014 01:50 AM

Wow those 18's look great on the car. Nice and refreshing to see something new.

It's not stated on the website, but there is a minimum order quantity for custom sizing. You'd need to find to some others who want the same.

The guy who sourced mine for me has an office in Japan and will send them anywhere in the world straight from there. If you really want a set, PM me and I'll put you in touch.

17x9 +36 please!!!!!!!

Thought 17x8 +42 looks good enough and being 6.32kg is pretty damn good.

Sold @coyote how do I order them?

+1!

I wonder how much 17x9 would weigh

Imo, they don't look that nice/cool (always disliked skinny spoke'y wheels and prefer deep face with lips or concave spoked wheels)... but it should always be about function over looks...and these are unbelievably light

$500 for a Forged and light wheel is pretty amazing too :)

diss7 01-05-2014 03:32 PM

I don't know why they don't offer a 16x8 instead of a 16x7 for us. 16x7 can only take a 205 semi. Must be for a race series.

Most 16" slicks I can find are recommended to go on a 16x8.

stevo_12v 01-05-2014 03:53 PM

Are proper semi slick widths wider than all season tyres? I'm running 16x7's(SprintHart CP-R's) on mine with 225's.
These are a fantastic rim... hmmm maybe I need a set.

You mentioned ordered are being taken.. is this from an Australian disty/wholesaler/retailer?

I wonder what price a set would be -landed-

Michael May at Garage88 in Sydney got mine for me. Didn't take long either. Either call him or email sales@garage88.com.au

Correct. The 16x7 is for a Japanese race series.

See above for Garage88 details. All I'll say about the price is that it reflects the quality.

I've emailed and talked to them on the phone. They no longer distribute TWS wheels in the USA and referred me to Kana (k_fujisaki@tws-forged.co.jp) to answer my questions for shipping to the US. Kana's reply: "...unfortunately the US retailer Forged Technologies is not active at the moment and we are not engaged in direct business with final customer." Kana is able to help with other questions directly related to the product itself, though. When all else fails, I suggest trying Japanparts for your JDM parts inquiries. They generally price things competitively with reliable shipping.

Lame, US always gets shafted. If there was in importer who'd amortize the shipping cost then I'd be all over a +1 size set of these.

@CSG Mike can you work your magic?

JParts has been pretty good at pricing things below the MSRP posted on manufacturers' sites to eat up some of the shipping cost. The only other importer I've seen that is sometimes competitive (though not as reliable) is Nigel. Haven't had luck with US-based vendors.

As a rough example, if springs MSRP at $400, JParts would price it at $375 + $125 shipping. So you effecively pay $100 for shipping. That's pretty reasonable considering how it has to fly from overseas and you can have the part at your door by the end of next week. When I'd inquire about the same part through a US-based JDM parts vendor (say, Bulletproof Automotive), they'd mark it up to $450 + $200 shipping with 8-12 weeks delivery. These are not exact numbers based on a real part but I was given a similar upcharge ratio when they quoted my STI lip kit (so I went with JParts).

diss7 01-06-2014 03:46 AM

Anyone in NZ or Australia, Michael @ 41 can get these.

dave77 01-06-2014 04:17 AM

This looks interesting. 10 lbs seems crazy light for all I know.

That would be saving 10 lbs per wheel since the oem wheels are 20 lbs.

dave77 01-06-2014 04:18 AM

Is there a pic with the 16's on an FRS?

Lewl Bulletproof. They wanted ~$600 USD for the unpainted TRD wing. I got it ~$360 shipped to my door from JParts.
