More MPG in manual mode (AT)
I've noticed my gas mileage going up if I drive in manual mode vs. leaving it in automatic. When I leave it in D, it has good response but I see the MPG go down. Is it just because I have a heavy foot? ;)

Weird, I find I get less MPG when I'm in manual mode.

This is what happens: when I drive on the freeway and keep it on 6th for most of the way, I can get 30 mpg and higher. If I just leave it on D, it dips down to 28 MPG. My commute to work and fro work is around 45 minutes to an hour.

I get far worst in auto sport mode compared to manual. I never drive with it in "normal" drive mode.

when i have the monitor up thats has current mpg it displays no difference with any mode auto/manual or sport. However when driving around town i definitely see better mpg auto, normal.

what does yall avg display? im getting 30.5

Difficult to analyze comparisons since it all depends upon driving habits and type of roads used (interstate, secondary or suburban driving.

Now that it's 10 or so miles in rush hour traffic I'm averaging about 27-28. The computer is still dipping down, think it's reading 30.2 at the moment as I have never reset it. |
Well I think in Sport mode it holds lower gears so, of course, it will get less MPG. I guess in manual if you choose to get to 5th or 6th then you could, possibly, do better than Sport mode.
