I've never tried the Blackfire wet diamond before. Looks good I'll pick some up and give it a try. Looks really good.

I'm sure there are waxes and sealers that give a more show quality shine, but this stuff is incredibly easy to apply and remove and lasts for months. The durability is the big seller for me.

Has anyone tried the White Wax by Meguiars on their whiteout?

I have entered and won several car shows where they judge on shine and cleanliness and I can without a doubt recommend the following products. I apply by hand and use over the counter products.

1. For dark cars (raven black) Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus (liquid or paste) is the best I have ever used. You can wax an entire FRS in 2 hours and the shine is dark, deep and unbeatable.

For silver and lighter colored cars with a metallic flake, go with a synthetic formula. Mothers gold class synthetic wax is phenomenal on silver.

Both of those waxes can be had for 10 bucks at wal mart or pep boys and with a decent foam applicator that is comfortable in your hand and a clean and properly prepped car, you will love results. Driving down the road where 99% of the people who see your car are oblivious to the 7 step process of waxing anyway, trust me that these two products work wonders.

O, and BTW, I live in Florida where it rains everyday and UV rays are terribly harsh.

On darker cars, like my Raven FRS, I primarily use Z5-excellent on swirls and easier to polish than Z2. However, Z2 provides the best finish-just a little harder to polish or take off than Z5.(I use Z6 Detailer to assist in the completion of a a Z2 polish.) Z5 polishing is so easy I do it every time I wash my car- about once a month. I use Z2 every five to six months. My experience with Zaino (Z5 and Z2) is that the finish of your paint actually improves over time with regular use.

I've been reading up on the white and black waxes from Meguiar's. Just FYI, you can use either on any vehicle. They aren't forumulated to match the color. Essentially, the white wax has more cleaners in it, while the black wax is formulated to provide a deeper gloss / reflection. The thought being that light colored cars don't reflect and look as "nice" as a dark color, so they don't need all the gloss enhancers. Worth noting, they achieve their corrective abilities due to some abrasives in them. I forget if they have more or less than Meguiar's Ultimate Polish (used on my whiteout a week ago to clean up transport issues). Applying by hand should be perfectly safe though.

My plan for the fall is going to be use the white wax on my DGM Forester since it has swirls from the dealership and various spots that need some TLC from the previous owner. Depening how that goes, I may use it on Silver Metallic(forget the official color name) Impreza since it's an '06 with 100k(mostly highway). No swirls since I've maintained since, but it definitely needs some attention.

Yea I ended up trying it out and it worked pretty well. I can see how it has cleaner properties because it easily took out all the black marks from autocross/track days unlike my goo gone and clay bar lol. Not much luck with swirls though. need a DA for that.

I have been using Z2 for over 15 years and continue to do so with my DGM BRZ. Only thing that I do differently now is apply a coat of Pinnacle Signature Series II after I remove the Z2 to enhance the shine.:thumbsup:

Wash w/ Dawn
Wash again if necessary
Claybar treatment w/ Reccardo Blue, or yellow if mid season
Wash
Polish with Klasse All-in-one and buff
Apply Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze
Wait a few hours, then let the real back breaking work begin (Buffing)

Klasse HGSG is like a 12month version of Opti-Coat. It's easy to accidentally leave some high spots which are exhausting to buff out.

This stuff is very very pretty, give extremely high gloss, unmatched beading/sheeting of water and the car stays visibly cleaner while the coating is intact. On the other hand, it doesn't provide the depth of a carnauba wax. That being said, you can layer the HGSG, 2-3 layers if you want for a deeper gloss, and then use your favorite carnauba on top of that for that wet, deep shine.

The Air Force Thunderbirds wax their F-16's. I use Zaino and have treated my shower :bonk:

Basic Zymol Cleaner Wax has worked well for me. Lasts long and is easy to apply. I just splurged and bought a bunch of their other products, including their Japon wax. I really look forward to trying it out and seeing the results. Oh...and their products are all natural and smell amazing!

I'll take some pictures and a water beading/sheeting video when I get around to applying. Hopefully this weekend is nice out. I might have to go borrow a friend's garage :P
