Borla UEL, Stock Exhaust, Nameless Axle Back @ Pure Automotive
Just thought I'd share another Borla Setup.
Borla UEL Stock Over Pipe Stock Front Pipe Stock Mid Pipe Nameless Axle Back Perrin Cold Air [ame]http://youtu.be/K3_dGI1zqXQ[/ame] [ame]http://youtu.be/FWI0DRvyW4s[/ame] |
This is what I'm going for with my setup: Borla UEL header with stock over/front/midpipe with an aftermarket axleback. I'm glad to hear that it's not too loud and sounds amazing. Can't wait to get it all installed soon!

Is this the off-set axleback and what size inlet? Sounds pretty tame even with the header, but I know the Nameless revised off-set Axleback alone is pretty mellow. I really thought it would be louder but man, that Nameless downpipe must add a TON of sound. Probably why Nameless plans on resonating their 3" Downpipe when it goes into production.
I've always wondered what this sounds like with the full 2.5" Nameless system with the Borla just out of curiosity with the UEL. Sounds pretty good and not loud at all. |
(This is my car)
That said, I have the offset version with I believe the 2.5in inlet, or whatever version that Nameless offered first. Having heard two other cars with full Invidia exhaust set-ups with the Borla header I can say that mine is quieter but I believe brings out more of that "boxer rumble." At idle and cruising below 2500 RPMs it's noticeable but not "loud." Anything above 2500 and Brady and I thought it sounded very STI-ish. I plan on adding the Nameless over pipe/front pipe combo with cat in the near future. We will be sure to post an update when that happens! If anyone has any other questions I'll do my best to answer. As always a big thanks to Brady at Pure Automotive. |

It defiantly sounds like a Subaru Impreza STi in the video with your two exhaust mods.

Yes I totally get going for the "gnarly without being obnoxious" sound. I think the Nameless/Borla combo is going to work out great for me. Just enough angry noises to bring a smile to my face without bursting my ear drums driving everyday.

Sounds great! Thanks for the sound clip. Please update when you decide to put in your midpipe.
