BRZ-Porsche 911 Dimensional Comparison

1 Attachment(s)
For whoever is (like me) still having trouble visualizing a BRZ on the street...

Here's a BRZ overlaid by a 2011 Porsche 911 Coupe (the body style you'd most expect to find on today's streets.). To me, the two body shells are surprisingly similar. Visually, I now think of the BRZ as a snubbed-tail, raised-nose 911 with a slightly longer wheelbase carrying a shorter body.

Very appealing, indeed. Looking forward to seeing a real one.

thanks very cool

Awesome overlay, I really like how small this car is going to be, the low center of gravity is sure to have a great feel around corners.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

This is great stuff, you have no idea how long I've been trying to picture this thing out on the street!

Great overlay, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, this gives me a much clearer idea of what to expect.

This is starting to scare me now, I have sat in one of those and did not have enough legroom! CRAP. I believe the Porsche has 41.6in :(

The BRZ is 10.1" shorter? Seems like the BRZ would be even smaller when compared to the Porsche.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. As much as I love this car already, as a member of the 6 footer club, I don't think it is going to work out for me.

Leg room, Leg room?

Don't give up yet. The BRZ is shorter overall but its wheel base is longer by about 4.7 inches. I think that means there may be a bit more leg room in the BRZ if you push the front seats back.

I was wondering the same, the extra 4" should help legroom.

This article says that 6 footers should fit easily

The BRZ's small, low footprint is deceiving because the cabin easily accommodates 6-foot-plus adults. Very long front-seat travel helps in this regard, and the steering wheel tilts and telescopes. Granted, with the driver's seat all the way back rear-seat legroom is nonexistent, but the backseat is marginally useful to start. With the rear seats folded, Subaru claims there's enough cargo space to carry four extra wheels and a jack for a day at the track; I suspect those rear seats will stay folded more often than not.

Like others have said, the wheelbase in the BRZ is longer, so legroom should be acceptable. Also, there haven't been any complaints from the media regarding leg-room [at least for the front passengers]. Historically, given the same vehicular dimensions, the Germans will always find a way to make the cabin smaller than the rest of the world.
