JDM/EUDM Exhaust Tips

I've been looking into getting a set of GT86 exhaust tips to put on my car, but I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere to get them for less than $190 shipped? I know they come from Japan and all, but dang. Seems like a lot to me for exhaust tips haha.
And if anyone wants to post some pictures of their cars with the JDM tips installed that would be really cool. I read that they stick out a little further when installed on a FRS/BRZ and wanted to see if this was true or not, and if they still look good.

Why not just get some other brand tip for cheaper, thats a steep price. You can save that money for something better. Just saying lol. Nigel does deal jdm parts I know he has them but idk how much. Probably around the same range though.

I think you can get them from japanparts.com for 160 ish..but they're not worth it. Plenty of other brand tips that are the same and cheaper.

Also, the tips are only 86mm diameter = 3.4 inches. 4" or 4.5" tips actually fill in the bumper cut outs better than the 86mm JDM tips.

Choices...

The JDM tips look nice. They do stick out further than ours but also have a rather small diameter for the cut-outs. You can see photos of them on eBay, lots of vendors on there selling them from Japan. Looks like they mount like our stock tips with the bolt underneath. There are other choices as well. Check out Summit's list for inexpensive universal ones...

These are my personal favorites from Perrin, designed for our cars. Adjustable so they can stick out also and the four inches fills the cut-outs nicely. You can see before and after photos of them on our cars right in the listing. Also quite expensive but they are really nice, especially the clamping mechanism. Five year guarantee as well. Worth every penny IMO.

Good luck deciding...

They don't stick out any further. You just have to push them past the little indent made from the puny stock tips.

Here's my installation progress...quite easy. I didn't push mine over the "stoppers".

I don't mean to revive this thread, but I finally got the exhaust tips, and now, I can't for the life of me get either of those damn bolts off to put the new tips on. Any advise from anyone who has done it?

WD40 works wonders. I gave each a good squirt. Start slow when you start ratcheting them off.

Make sure to hold the back side with a wrench so it doesn't spin lol

Got the bolts finally. I don't know why I didn't think of WD-40 before :bonk: Thanks
Now, how do I get the tips past the stoppers? They stick out just a little too far for my liking... Do I just push?

Not to knock WD40 because it's great stuff but PB Blaster is even better for freeing rusted fasteners, etc.

I was prompted to go out onto the internet to find this:

"TAIL PIPE EXTENSION"

I'm guessing it's for only one "extension", so about $80 before shipping and taxes.

Ancient post ressurection here. Were you able to get the tips pushed past the metal stopper? I grabbed a set and couldn't get them all the way on, and I pushed pretty hard. I'll probably try again, but was wondering if anyone figured out a trick to it.

I was wondering the same thing and it never seems to be answered clearly. Can the jdm exhaust tips be adjusted by pushing them past the metal stopper and if so how would one do this? The right tip sticks out noticeably further than the left and I would even like to push the left one in a little more too. Would you just use a rubber mallet?
