Dry Weather Drifting Footage?

A lot of people are saying this car is born to drift. In fact the title of the Top Gear BRZ magazine article was Tokyo Drift. However, by looking at the numbers I am not convinced that this car will be capable of powering through a drift in dry weather. I'm sure it can slide, like with all underpowered cars, and the power will significantly fall off while pushing through it, but that isn't a drift.

The only footage I've seen of the car drift is in wet weather conditions. And more noticeably, several of the test drive reviews of this car have been on rainy/wet days. Just curious if there's any footage of one in stock form drifting in dry conditions.

its cool :D im sure there is footage out there on you tube but we cant find it... that video was found in late November with 8 views and it was uploaded in the beginning of October

and you can tell he wasn't pushing it nor was the drift/power slide unpredictable, he was having fun, exactly what the car was intended for... FUN :D

Why do you think it takes a lot of power? I've drifted a stock ka24e with a welded diff. You only need gobs of power to accelerate to the entry point and keep wide ass sticky tires smoking in competition. Only a problem for Pros.

I didn't say that it takes gobs of power, but it does take a good amount of power to keep the car drifting through the curve without the power dropping off. I used to have a ka24 240 as well, but it certainly didn't have the power to keep the car drifting through a lengthy curve. As I was saying, any car can pull the e-brake or flick it at the entry point and slide, but it takes a decent amount power (depending on weight) to sustain a long drift. The little drifts he does in that video are small bursts, I look forward to seeing a video of the car powering through a larger curve for a longer period of time and for people to stop praising the car for its drifting abilities on a soaking wet track.

That's because you probably had an open diff or suck at clutch kicking. Low hp cars can hold long slides if you keep the rpm up.
