I drove through there last August in a rental Sentra. I have probably never missed the BRZ more.

For US 129, the best time to go is in the winter when it isn't icy. I was there back in Jan and probably saw a total of 5 vehicles on the busiest drive in the middle of the afternoon. Even encountered a couple more drivers in an FR-S and Genesis, and we were the only cars on the road. During the summer on the weekends it is pretty nuts and really crowded though.

Has anyone traveled the Angeles Crest Highway? By far my favorite road in California - being a northeast (Massachusetts) native.

Woohoo we made the front page! Again a huge thanks to everyone who organized this drive. I had a great time. I should have my multi-rotor UAV all dialed in for aerial shots for the next meetup, or maybe the one after that.

How were you able to achieve the behind the back shot while still being able to maintain video capture of the road?

I tried hanging my action camera from my rear window and there was a big glare on the road yet the interior was good. Should I try to straighten out the mount instead of hanging it?

I have only had limited luck when hanging the camera inside the window, facing backwards... you get a much clearer shot if you mount outside. I was a little reluctant to do that at first but I trust the GoPro suction cup now, it's pretty solid. If you're using a GoPro make sure you set the light metering mode to spot (Spt) not center (Cnt) if you are shooting from inside. If shooting outside then use Cnt.

Good tip, I'll give that a try as well, never really played around with these and just always used the default settings.
