Shut up and take my money!

We've used this setup in many s2k's, which makes similar HP and Tq numbers without an issue. Only time I have see any type of failure was from aluminum cases twisting under load. We always recommend to use a steel case.

So you guys make a built engine, a built rearend. Now the only real thing to worry about is the tranny. Do you guys plan on offering a solution if that becomes a weak point aswell?

Full Blown have quite a lot of experience with the 8.8 rear-end in the S2000 world, with examples running in the 8's and 9's

Nice to see this development taking place on the FR-S/86/BR-Z platform

V160 or R154 swap could be interesting

The speed with which the aftermarket has evolved for this car is pretty amazing. Gonna be a fun tuner car... :-)

We have no plans for a trans solution yet. We'll see how everything goes first.

Huehuecoyotl 03-20-2013 11:22 AM

at what HP/TQ does the OE one start to fail?

Just thinking ahead. ;) If 450lb-ft launches, 2800lb car, 1.3sec 60ft destroys factory 5 speeds. Then your shop car is pretty close. :-D

Id really like to see the stock trannys breaking point before id even think of a v160. 2-3x the weight maybe? And if i recall it was roughly 30" from the bellhousing to the shifter... Not to mention enlarging the tunnel would most likely be required (went thru all this with one of my mk3 supras)

King Tut 03-20-2013 02:36 PM

Don't think I will be needing this part, haha.

i was wondering what about the axles, cause I'm worried about those after seeing E.kanoos 2j 86 blow them on the drag strip

FullBlown 03-20-2013 03:53 PM

We are working with DSS to get the axles made

XPR Small Block 03-20-2013 03:58 PM

theres no way id pay 3000 for a ford rear end specially a 8.8 as soon as a good amount of torque hits it, it will go just like the scion diff, if i was to use anything other than a dana 44 pumpkin as used in the corvettes from the 60's on up to the 80's, it would be the ford 9 inch specially if your already customizing the pumpkin to fit under the car just my opinion but the dana 44 is alot more strong, i mean there is a reason why everyone love the 9 in.. the 8.8 doesnt handle much abuse same goes for gm 10 bolt rear axle both were fit under stock pony cars both are garbage in the pony world every one i know got rid of both axle asap for the ford 9 inch, or a dana 44 or for more power apps even a dana 60

we have tons of these kits on 2.0L-2.2L making 800-1000hp+ without any issues. These cars are going anywhere from 10's - 8.50's in the quarter.

I'm sure a lot of big block domestic guys are breaking these , but this has been tested and proven for what we are doing.
