Giant respect guys. Now that you've solidified axles, rear end, and prop shaft, when will we see a bell housing conversion for GForce transmissions!

I smell a 3k price tag on this. Not like it will stop me.

We're not sure but the drive shaft and axles won't be cheap.

+1 for the nice choice of gear ratios. IMO, the factory 1st gear is a bit too short.

Is the Ford 8.8 from an 03-04 Cobra? I don't think there will be too many of us seeing 800wtq. The choices in gear ratios makes me happy though.

8.8 does arb make a locker for this. :bellyroll: jk

It was available in other models, but yes it was also in the 03/04.

Is there any way to build the preload adjusters for the diff caps(I can't remember what it's called
exactly) into this? If your pushing enough horsepower to need an 8.8 you'll probably need to keep the caps from walking.

EZWood 03-19-2013 11:26 PM

With an 8.8 if they are anything like the solid axle 8.8's there is a common problem with the ring gear coming loose. It's all over the jeep forums. Just something to think about. Gem- I forget who makes it, but there is a locker for the 8.8 that is a limited slip/e-locker combo. That would be interesting for a road course.
