Hands Free on Bespoke: Off Hook Switch?
 

When I use the hands free system in my FR-S to make a phone call I say "call steve smith" and then my phone repeats the name and asks me to either press the "off hook switch" or say "dial" after the beep.

WTF is the off hook switch???

I'm assuming it means a button on the head unit. I just don't know which.

It seems pretty clear that there is an assumption that there is a button on the steering wheel.

Ahhh... ya know, since the FR-S was the first car that was available with the Bespoke unit, and there are no steering wheel controls, I never considered that. The tC has steering wheel controls, so that is probably what it is referring to. Thanks!

Also, a big sarcastic thanks for making me feel dumb. Obviously it wasn't "pretty clear" to me. :)

Don't the stock HU's have a button that acts as an "off hook switch? Lower left corner.

In the settings on the HU, did you tell it that the vehicle is an frs? When I stumbled into that menu, mine was set to "tc" for some reason

@Shutter, Yeah, mine is set to FR-S.

@husker741, the Bespoke head unit doesn't have that hard button.

Just hit the green button on the screen (phone icon) to confirm.

I must be stupid. I don't see any green button when it tells me to hit the off hook switch!

Can you say "Dial" outlooud instead of pushing the offhook button?

Yeah, but then you have to wait an extra 3-4 seconds for the prompt beep.
