Six Months With My BRZ

So I just noticed that I have my BRZ a little over six months and I thought I would share a little about the experience so far.

I purchased it September 13th in Colorado and drove it home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The car has been great with little to complain about. The only real issues I have is the cricket noise from the fuel pump ( which I will get looked at during my 7,500 mile service ) and the bluetooth taking anywhere from 20 seconds to 10 minutes to connect. The car currently has 6,820 miles on it.

Mileage was in the 30's during the break in period but has declined since ;) Highest mileage was 34.50 MPG while driving in the mountains. On a recent 200 mile trip which mixed was mostly highway I averaged 30.15. Current lifetime average MPG is 27.348

I need to make time to learn a little about auto cross and get to a track.

And one other thing, the paint seems to chip and scratch with ease >_<

why didn't you post this in the BRZ section?

Is that paint chipping all over or in one specific area?

That's funny, my FR-S paint is just fine.

Yep, my paint chips fairly easily, thats why I bought a clear bra. *Knocks on wood.

Automatic or manual? Just curious on the mileage.

Hey there Brbrz, just north of you in Jackson and also at 6 months, until yesterday I had 0 yes 0 problems with mine, see other thread for what happened. I have noticed that the paint is really.... lacking in long term durability.

Going to offer a suggestion that bluetooth problems are likely due to your phone's firmware/OS. Make sure it's updated to the newest version. I had problems with my iPhone connectivity before I updated it, now it's flawless.

FYI, FRS/BRZ/GT86 are all manufactured in Fuji Heavy Industries, so you still have the same crappy Subaru paint ;)

I think its unless they bought the first released versions, mine bought in December 27th. Only problem i have is chirping. BUT i wonder if anyone else has the weird glitch that happens when you change volume on the dash thing when connected to an iphone or radio sometimes the volume kinda statics then connection comes back to normal to the volume level you pick. I think its weird.

Re: paint

Yes it does chip and mar with ease. However, I just saw a new Impala in the parking lot and my orange peel doesn't look NEARLY as bad is that car's was and I'd say Subaru orange peel is pretty bad.

With my old Nexus S, the bluetooth connected fast and the first time every time. I just got an LG Optimus G a few weeks ago - a better phone in almost every way - but now I am noticing the bluetooth taking longer to connect and failing on the first try quite often. Hadn't given it much thought until I saw your post.

It's in various places, the worst is where a rock hit the left rear quarter panel and rolled so I've got 5 chips in a row from that one >_<
