Project Mu HC+800 Pads

Are any of you ladies and gentlemen using hybrid pads, specifically Project Mu's HC+800? As with most pads, I know to expect an increase in dust, noise and rotor wear; however, about how much more noticeable was it under your particular driving conditions? I'm particularly concerned with noise.

Much thanks in advance!

Bed them properly, and it should be minimal. Call me if you want to see how Club Racers sound under street use; they're on the car I'm driving right now.

I subject car mods to what I call "the girl test". If a lady in the passenger seat won't complain, then it's gonna be socially acceptable :)

That's the test I need the pads to pass as well. :(

I work in south Irvine. HMU.

I purchased a set of HC+800 pads from Speed Freaks and received them this past weekend. I will be installing them, and doing a full review during my 3/30 track event at Laguna Seca. To my knowledge, Speed Freaks owns most of the stock currently in the US.

@spitz: Thank you! I can't wait to hear what you have to say - good or bad! Is your BRZ your daily driver?

Are these like carbotechs that require a new set or rotors or resurfacing to properly bed and get the most out of them? I'm very interested in them.

You should resurface before putting any new pads on to ensure proper bedding. :)

but is it *required*??? I'm pretty lazy. Taking the rotors off and then bringing them somewhere and paying to have them resurfaced after only a couple thousand miles on StopTech Street Performance pads seems kinda overkill. My rotors still look new, hardly any wear.

I know lots of track guys here don't resurface before every pad swap. The guys here running AP C300's on the Essex Sprint BBK at the track always swap back to street pads after an event without resurfacing.

@ATL BRZ: Good point, I didn't think about resurfacing yet either because of how new the vehicle is.

Ideal? Yes. Required? Hardly. We mix pads all the time. Just expect the brakes to be a a little funky the first session or few stops on the streets.

Yes sir! It is a daily driven car. The front rotors will be replaced with vented DBAs, but the rears I am keeping stock for now (DBAs aren't available last I checked).

@spitz: I hope you had a great weekend at Laguna Seca. How'd it go? Are you happy with the HC+800 pads?

Thinking about these as well eager to hear
