Jax, FL **STAY AWAY**, terrible body shop!!

Just want to get this out to everyone in the Jacksonville area. The Autocrafters body shop off of Debutante Dr. produce’s terrible quality paint work.

For a little back story, I wrecked my car on Feb 15 due to someone else's inability to pay attention. (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30482) As a result I approved my car to be repaired by the Autocrafters off Debutante Dr. The repair was completed quickly and when I picked my car up it looked like some darn good body work, except for some minor areas that only a FRS/BRZ owner would see. You really can't even tell it was wrecked. This was until I seen the hood, side fenders, bumper, and both doors under sunlight where I discovered massive amounts of swirl marks. In an attempt to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation they only covered up the swirl marks with some type of glaze which washed off 2 days later revealing that they never did fix the swirl marks. (Some of you may have seen my car at Rev Works on March 9th with the swirl marks on the hood) After calling the insurance company about the terrible quality work the body shop puts out they requested I give them one more chance to fix it, after much reluctance I agreed. As I watched the two guys working on my car I realized why the FRESH new paint job was jacked up, the monkey polishing the car was pushing the cloth into the paint with the pressure of what would be equivalent to scrubbing a dirty floor, thus causing more damage to the paint. At this point I brought it to the attention of the manager and his response is "this is the best we can do and black cars naturally have scratch/swirl marks in it" How in the hell can you tell someone a freshly painted car is naturally supposed to look like shit?

So now I am hoping a Paint Correction shop can fix the damage done. Long story short if you have to have any repairs done stay away from this body shop!

I am until I receive a check from the insurance company to pay for it to be repaired.

I don't mind swirl marks if my car had been for 1+ years depends on how i maintained it but this is bad considering new paint job. hope you get something out of it
