Bird Poop

So a bird took a MASSIVE crap on the hood of my car and my idiot dumb ass didn't clean it when I first saw it, waited like 3 days, I have no idea why and now I regret it. Anyways, I washed it off and washed the car as well and noticed that it left the outline of it and the paint is actually cracked and the cracks are white. Should this be able to buff out or am I SOL? I feel like crying. :mad0259:

I'm no expert but I'd try hitting it with a DA and something with some cut. I've had much success with Meguiars Ultimate Compound. If it went too deep though, yeah - you're screwed.

May be time to find a good detailer. Had this happen on my Mini Cooper (black top) and the poop etched into the paint. I used Meguiars Ultimate compound but it only removed some of it.

If you left it for three days, I THINK there's no easy solution to fixing this.. maybe try a claybar? If not, you'll most likely need to sand it down and respray. Sorry to hear bud, but these birds really need to start shitting on other things rather than our much loved cars!

I keep some of these in the car and use 'em as soon as I spot the crap...

Cheap insurance.

Yeah, leave bird crap on a car for more than 24 hours, especially if i has been sitting in the sun, and there is a good chance for permanent damage. Had this on several of my cars, tried using a variety of polishes/compounds by hand and DA. Some success, but the damage is still visible.

I suggest you find a top quality detailer in your area, if you need help PM me. Without a photo its impossible to know exactly how to deal, too many factors are involved.

Its likely etched and needs some deep polishing......

Cheers,
GREG

polishing and or wet sanding will need to be done. claybar won't even begin to touch it.

what're the birds eating? nuclear waste? their poop is so freakin acidic.
