FuelLog (Android) App:~10k miles of MPG, Range, Fuel Prices, Fuel Qty, Etc.

Howdy yall. Just thought I'd share this app that I've been using for a while now (since I have to keep mileage logs for my car for work). It's free, and a really nice app to track your useage. Found it way more useful that Fuelly.

If anyone is interested in seeing what kind of mileage you're getting (mpg), estimate your daily/monthly/yearly fuel costs, see what your projected yearly mileage might be, keep track of all your upgrades and car accessories you've bought, costs of your planned maintenance, and other statics, you really aught to check out this app.

I'm attaching mine so yall can see what it's like, and maybe provide a bit of insight to any potential buyers of the twins who're curious on what actual prices associated with owning a twin compared to another car. If you're curious, the lower mileage tanks were when I had AutoX days, crazy hillcountry twisty runs, or was just getting happy with the hoonage. Averaging 25mpg when going all out or hooning around really isn't all that bad, all things considered!

Incidentally, it's only costing me about 25-30% more fuel cost wise to drive my FRS than my previous Mk5 Jetta TDI which got ~50mpg (gotta love diesel). The lower price of Premium fuel vs Diesel unfortunately didn't quite make up for the lower fuel mileage.

Anyhow, the goods:

Thanks for the post. It's nice seeing the real-world average including less than conservative driving. :)

I've been using Fuelly, but the one-time costs log is pretty cool.

I've been using Fuel Log for a few years now, and it is a handy little app

This looks good. I was looking at Fuelly, but they really need an app. Can't imagine what's taking them so long, it's not that involved.

I'm too lazy to log my fuel... My little average MPG thingy in my dash says 26.3mpg though, and that is very close to correct because I normally do the simple math every time I fill up. Divide my trip B (that I reset at every fill up) with the number of gallons I put in her.

FYI, to anyone who thinks the "AVG MPG" on the dash is good enough, it is ALWAYS optimistic. I've never had it be closer than 5% on any fill up. Last night it was saying I got 34.6 mpg when in actuality it was 32.6.

Unless you're a regular person and you just fill up when necessary and don't give a fuck.

I'm a regular person and only fill up when necessary... But my average thing has been within 10% every time I've ran the numbers. It's not that off.

Just saying, I think that less than 10% deviation is plenty good enough for an average MPG display.
