lug type help!?
 

i have XXR 530 18" and am looking into new lugs, but i have no idea what type of lugs i need. can any1 help me out?

I ment like what style fits since i know not all are universal. I know where to get them

12mm x 1.25. An easy way to search would be Suby lugs as the thread type has been the same for decades.

@Beyer Subaru obviously at this point i feel lik a complete moron, but this is what im asking about. I don't know how universal it is or if i need a dif style from stock

You want tapered ones (AKA "aftermarket").

But yeah, 12mm x 1.25 aftermarket/tapered is what you're looking for. Beyond that, it's all up to you (open/closed/anodized/locking key/etc).

Yeah, hes right. 90% of all aftermarket wheels use tuner style lug nuts. And 1.25 is the correct thread.

If you want to have extra assurance look at NL motoring's website. they tell you what type of lug nut needed.

I don't know if the others answered this or not. You want the conical/tapered version. I believe that would be a 60 degree taper.

Most all OEM and aftermarket Suby wheels will be of this design. The problem that you will run into with some aftermarket wheels is that the OEM lugs will make contact with the rotor before they are "tight" against the wheel.

What do you mean oem makes contact with the rotor? I'm running into some problems with my aftermarket rims.

This isn't exactly what I'm talking about but you can see that the aftermarket lug "seats" better because it has a larger tapered surface area vs the oem lug nut.

If the aftermarket wheel has a larger lug hole (tapered seat) then the oem nut might not seat properly.

Kinda. What I'm dealing with is the rotor rubbing, even with the oem wheels a slight rub. While driving with oem wheels no noise everything is normal, I jack up the car and spin oem wheels by hand I hear slight rubbing on the rotor.

Aftermarket rims. Wheel clearance is good its a 17 x7. Off set 42. Tires 225/45/17. The rotor rubbing with the aftermarket rims are a bit more, however when I drive it I can hear it rubbing as the car is moving. At a good volume.

Like pad on rotor rubbing?

I would suppose that if you were using improper lugs that didn't put proper torque on wheel to rotor to hub it could cause louder than usual rubbing.

To some degree there will always be a little bit of noise there in normal operation.
