JackSmiley 03-17-2013 08:25 PM

MEEEEEEEE!!!! Gonna request those days tomorrow.:D

bignrichlll 03-17-2013 09:47 PM

Im in.. Epic caravan? :)

PMok 03-17-2013 10:04 PM

You know what would be epic... drive down to SoCal, meet up with the SoCal group, and caravan over to LV. Might actually make sense to break it up into two 6 hour drives instead of one 10-hour drive.

I'm interested, but not sure if my schedule will permit me to participate.

MyRx 03-17-2013 10:53 PM

I'm buying stock in blue tape.

86_ZN6 03-18-2013 04:08 AM

@ichitaka05 please Sticky this thread

thanks!

DAMotorsports 03-18-2013 04:15 AM

Ill be keeping the SOCAL thread up to date and we can talk more later as to when and where we all can meet up to make a Cali showing

BlaineWasHere 03-18-2013 11:06 AM

If you try really hard you can make it all the way to Vegas in 6.5 hours from San Jose... Last time it took me a little over 7.

PMok 03-18-2013 12:46 PM

Sure, if you fly solo... In a group/caravan you can't fly under the radar so to speak, and you have to plan more stops... Account for the LCD of bladder/bowel fortitude heh. If anyone brings a wife or GF... Forget it.

dun3 03-18-2013 01:54 PM

^LOL!

This is probably a no for me.. But sounds like it'd be awesome

Kiteless 03-18-2013 02:01 PM

Wanna do a caravan from NorCal for sure! Gonna start saving money for Hotel and gas. Should be a LOT of fun. And yes blue tape all the way I think.

BigFatFlip 03-18-2013 02:14 PM

Sounds like fun! I like the idea of having a Norcal caravan down and meet with Socal, then onto Vegas. Put me down as a maybe JR, I've got it on my calendar, but work/wife are unpredictable these days (plus saving my vacations days for PI).

If this is a brain storming thread for the caravan, may I make a couple of suggestions:

-Have pre-planned stops for the caravan (usually rest stops) so those who have to "go" can and people who get separated can catch up.
-Walkie-talkies are great for keeping communication, have some spread through out the group.

Any thoughts on getting a group rate for the hotel (nor cal/so cal combined) and maybe see if there's a way to section off an area of the parking lot. The guys from Wust do it first weekend of June every year for their Euro rides

86BRZ 03-18-2013 03:26 PM

6.5 hours to Vegas?

Is that a new movie? Must kept over 90mph average?

Wow.

I think the organizers of the expo are making arrangments for hotels

finch1750 03-18-2013 04:22 PM

im a long shot maybe. gonna have to really look at my budget. I had money set aside for some modes, but maybe it will be better spent on this trip. plus i'm not sure i could take the time off work. maybe an all night drive down thursday for me.

This was actually done in a caravan of 8-10 cars. Front and rear car both had V1 radar and every car had a radio. We never went over 90 but stayed near that speed almost the whole way.

Hey has anyone else noticed that you cant set the cruise above 90mph on these cars? :mad0260: What kind of oversight was that?:bs:

I think it's smart. If your going that fast you should be in full control of the car. However on my old car 105 was the cruise limit. But it was German.

Mark me down as a maybe. I'd like to see more arrangement infos from the host, if any.

PMok 03-18-2013 09:31 PM

yeah I'd like to see what attractions they will offer... think autox is already mentioned. Would like to see if they do a track day, bbq, musical guests, club night, model shoot haha. If they do all the above I'd really find a way to make it! LOL not like Vegas doesn't have enough diversions as it is.

Im in :)

BlaineWasHere 03-19-2013 03:46 AM

I'm pretty interested.

PMok 03-19-2013 04:01 AM

LOL it would be pretty damn ironic if the dealer in LV that we end up gathering at, is one of the notorious blacklisted dealers... Subaru of LV. But I'm guessing not.

BlaineWasHere 03-19-2013 03:24 PM

I'm pretty excited about the autoX. If that's legit I'm in for sure!

JDLAutoDesign 03-19-2013 03:28 PM

Might be in

Simpleviet 03-19-2013 10:56 PM

I would do this for the drive and see Las Vegas for the first time haha. Other than I like to see the price before I commit.

finch1750 03-20-2013 01:51 AM

See post #4 in the general thread. LV ft86club local gonna hook it up with friend and family pricing for hotels. thursday and friday night possible for under 100 bucks.

PMok 03-20-2013 03:41 AM

ohhh snap, wife tentatively gave the approval... now to convince my work to let me off haha. So what area will the events generally be at? Near the strip, LVMS, downtown? Knowing that will help decide where to book hotel at...

JackSmiley 03-20-2013 06:39 AM

Hopefully no one will slip some ruffies in my drink...

Simpleviet 03-20-2013 08:42 PM

Anyone want to share the cost for a room? I sent a pm to hotel discount guy thanks Finch. I don't know if its single rooms or two rooms. Whatever it may be.

There gonna be 2 major areas for this event.
1. Las Vegas Motor Speedway
2. Fletcher Jones Toyota Scion (3255 E Sahara Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89104)

We're currently looking into area/parking lot for night meet.

finch1750 03-21-2013 04:21 PM

Would be nice if we could have those nor cal shirts we talked about in the other thread for this. i keep thinking big logo on the back with on small logo on the front. maybe even screen names like on the sleeve or on the back would be cool

Ooh yes! I love the screen name idea!

PMok 03-21-2013 10:45 PM

But we have to show how we are better out here, since people are complaining how far west it is and all. So no paper name tags for us.:party0030:

in that case we need to go all out... bowling-style or mechanic-style shirts, with embroidered names.

Maybe a local NorCal shop like WORKS, N1, BLOX, or SpeedElement can sponsor some shirts for us to help us represent! :respekt:
