LED DRLs on A/T??

anyone have a setup?? i realized without relays they will flicker

boredom.is.me 03-17-2013 07:24 PM

A/T as in auto transmission? What makes an auto any different from a manual?

Just plug them in and go. They are always on or always off, not flashing so a new relay isn't needed. It is just an open power supply.

i wouldnt post this unless i already tried it... the drls dont come on unless you put it in drive and something with the voltage makes them flicker

sounds like something is wrong with the leds

CircuitJerk 03-17-2013 09:57 PM

^^^Yes. Something is not right with the LED's. I have an AT and no flicker.

boredom.is.me 03-17-2013 11:20 PM

Well the DRL's don't come on until you're in drive so that part is normal. With a MT, that means just disengaging the e-brake.

The flickering though is a problem. The first thing to check is the bulb. Put your stock bulbs back in. If the flickering persists, take the car to the dealership. If the flickering goes away, then that means that the power delivery should be fine.

Mine were actually a prototype for 5000K. Not a fan of colors above that.

Did you get yours from a vendor on here?

Got3n 03-18-2013 01:31 PM

I have an AT with LED DRL's and never had any flicker.

I think you might need a resistor? Dunno, but I've heard that some LED's require one or else they will blink too fast.

These are replacements for the high beams, not blinkers.
What you're suggesting is related to when LED's are used to replace turn indicators (blinkers)

Whatever u do DO NOT buy from Concept-Three-LEDS those bulbs are crappy as hell and u will never get your money or new bulbs....trust me

I ordered a cheap pair from China for about 8 bucks shipped. I wanted to see how LEDs looked but didn't wanna spend too much on them. I should see them sometime next month probably lol.
