I've never had the problem, but if I did then I would just buy one of the cool aftermarket sets that are out. It shouldn't be as big of a deal as some people are making it.

Doesn't the dealer TSB cover a replacement/fix?

Yes but the replacements are the same part so kind of pointless to replace it IMO

The problem was fixed on the manufacturing line, so new parts shouldn't experience condensation...

Look at the DIY on the gasket of the taillights, i think its more so the problem of the foam gasket on the taillights.

I've had around 2 sets of taillights gone now. I'm starting to get the condensation back slowly on this 3rd set.

At first it isn't so bad, but when your whole taillight fogs up and starts creating a puddle, that's when everyone can see it. Thus making the car look bad.

I'm about to order some foam and go do that gasket DIY. Foams not cheap for some reason...

If you want to save some cash I can send you a set of the gaskets from my DIY. PM me if you're interested.

My second set of lights is good so far. It's ranged from -10 to 70 degrees with the replacements. Part of the equation is the dealer must torque the bolts properly. As stated before moisture in the lights looks like crap.

Anyone have the TSB number? Nice to have to bring into the dealer when people are trying to get lights replaced when they do want to.

When I took mine in for repair I was told it's not the lights themselves but gaps in the body that are letting moisture in. They used some filler in the trunk area and the problem has gone away (so far).

I've removed and reinstalled the lights 3 times now for different mods but I haven't had any issues with condensation.

for the condensation, wouldn't it be more the how the light assembly is sealed together?

I had condensation problems when I first got this civic. i just put a bead of eproxy around the creases of the assembly and haven't had any problems since.

the cheap gasket thing is also something that needs to be addressed too tho.

From reading a lot of thread, the problem seems to be the gaskets. They let water in and water gets inside the lens by the bulbs sockets/holes.

I think it's more that the factory gasket material just isn't thick enough, but I think essentially he's right. Because of those gaps, we need a thicker then normal gasket, which Toyobaru didn't do.
