Help me choose my next mod!

As my signature explains, my car currently has a K&N Drop-In and a SpeedFactory V1 Exhaust. Help me decide what's next!

Are you tracking it or just a dd?

AllDayJonRay 03-15-2013 01:03 PM

DD, Hopefully with some abuse, err, track time.

zc06_kisstherain 03-15-2013 01:19 PM

get front pipe.
i would get bolts-on then EMS later with tune. i don't know exactly what your plan is.
if you're considering F/I later like Turbo then you shouldnt buy anything except EMS

I suggest any or all of the following to maximize performance and styling without voiding your warranty and it's all pretty affordable:

- better tires
- stainless steel brake lines & upgraded pads
- window tint
- springs
- clear side markers/chrome amber bulbs
- short antenna or shark fin

Uhhh. There's a poll.... with four options... Not so much interested in any of the options you suggested. No offense, just not the direction I want to go in. I'm looking for performance upgrades (engine/drivetrain wise).

Also, there's no such thing as a 'voided' warranty. I get so tired of seeing that word thrown around.

Tires, Suspension, Driver all really good mods to do that will make your car faster without adding power :)

Hey Jon,

I just upgraded from the TRD filter to the full Perrin intake and inlet tube. I already have the Takeda exhaust. My plan is to go with Visconti or Moto-East's tune as I get towards the end of my powertrain warranty, which should be in about 12-18 months with the mileage I drive.

HUGE improvement over just the filter. You're welcome to swing by the dealership and check it out if you're driving by - I'm usually here 730am-5pm.

James.

But the point is to add power....

I'm 100% satisfied at this time with EVERY performance aspect of the car (braking, handling, aesthetics, etc), other than power output.

Once you come to the track with us, your eyes will be opened up to the world of handling and braking. I would personally spend as little as you can on power mods right now until you get to track the car. Then you will be yearning for more track time (which costs $) and brakes, tires, suspension. :)

What? Tuning is going to be required with a F/I upgrade.

Need a motor swap for any real power upgrade? I hope you are kidding.
