Help NEEDED ASAP, Thanks in advance!

ok heres the situation, Im an FR-S owner, and I just got my S2000 back this week. Sadly I burned the engine out.. I feel dumb on this one because I must not know how to read the dipstick and neither does my father? Anywhos.. the best option is engine replacement, but im trying to find an F20C for cheaper than $3000 that has maybe less than 70,000 miles on it. Does anyone know of a site that I can find this engine for lower than 3 grand? Please PM, thanks!

Look into a K20 swap, they apparently respond to bolt-on's better and just need an adapter plate to bolt to the F20C transmission.

I don't know what the costs will be like at all, might not be cheaper at all, but K20's are more plentiful then F20C's.

If I'm not mistaken they make LSX swap kits for it. I think it would be a lot more fun, and they're extremely common, very reliable.

But if you're a JDM purist, you may hate the idea of American muscle in a Japanese car.

Did you try going on S2ki to find this? I hope you have you might get alot of information there as well.

An LSx with a T56 can run anywhere from 5k-12k depending on condition and the swap would def require some serious custom fab work.

K swaps aren't totally straightforward but are def. cool. Not something I would recommend to him though because it can get expensive.

^^^Bingo!! You'll find better info and you might even find a long block on there for a decent price. I'm not sure how much labor will cost, but it ain't gonna be cheap! Be ready to spend some skrilla!

Yeah still on the hunt.. I think I found one that only has 150 miles on her for 2,450, but im suspcious...To note.. although an engine swap maybe a good idea for some, not really for me right now. I had tinkered with the K20, but in stock trim, it wouldnt pull like the F20C. Also it would of helped if I had got her towed to a speed shop vs a honda dealership. FYI.. an LS swap can be cheap to find an older motor, but the fab work and final product are not 100% worth it in the end. Not that Im a purist, im just trying to keep the cars 50/50 in check.

If you get a JDM K20 from a newer Integra Type R (our RSX) it'll make just as much power as the F20C bone stock, if not more.

There was a couple companies that sold swap kits to put K20's into Lotus Elise's that were getting 250whp out of K20's without touching the inside of the engine (tune, intake, header and exhaust were custom since no off the shelf parts work in the lotus).

Tallant Brothers Auto Parts in Cummings, Georgia has an F20C with 56,041 miles on it for $3,000.

Eco Green Auto Parts in Atlanta, Georgia has an F20C for $2,450. There's no mention of how many miles are on it though.

Hope this helps!
