Whiteline Rant

This is a rant, no seriousness is suggested or implied.

[rant]
In the Circuit Motorsports SEMA 2012 Coverage youtube clip Andy says about 4-6 weeks for the toe adjusters and before Christmas for the rear lower control arms (porn!!!). I ring them in January 2013 and am told call again March. Just gotten off the phone and was told about another month but the guy I talked to wasn't sure. It was not they will be ready in a month's time, it was check again in a month's time. I know they are a large-ish business and the FR-S/BRZ/86 isn't the only car in their product line up but there is only so much fantasizing one can do before the need for the real thing tends to clutter ones thoughts. (huh? that sounds kinda...mmmm).

Patience grasshopper. Good things come to those who wait. (I'm also waiting for the toe links and LCAs)

Seems us local Australians dont get priority over the US market despite it being Australian made. Perhaps bigger market/demand over there. Whats even more ridiculous is parts like whiteline and DBA being at least 50-75% cheaper (especially DBA) in the US than here in Australia.

I mean we get shafted when it comes to things that get imported from the US, i.e. shipping, markup, duties and taxes. But when its the other way around you'd think itd be nice we could get some decent prices over here on Australian made products, but sadly just not the case.

Pair of DBA 4650S T3 front rotors is 400 buks here, over in the US its 220usd. So in the end I bought from the US even though its built and sold around the corner from my house.

For all my whiteline parts its been cheaper for me to order from the usa and have them shipped back then it is for me to walk down to my local repco get them specially ordered and also pay for shipping from their distributions center to the local store... AUSTRALIA YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG!!!

This doesn't only apply to just car parts.. it applies to EVERYTHING that we consumers buy. For example, cigarettes - a pack of 25s cost somewhere between $16AUD up to $25AUD, depending on where you purchase them from whereas in the US they can be as low as approx. $2AUD and as much as $12AUD.

I agree, it is very frustrating seeing dirt cheap products from the US market. Remember though that you're comparing prices from a country that has 7 dollar minimum wage to nearly 16 bucks over here.

Whiteline Toe arms are available now. The LCA's are still next to the unicorns though. :(
