3 things: Even after reading many reviews, I still can't fathom these...
 

1) When people say this car is slow. How slow am I talking? Can you put it into perspective of a 1998 Honda Civic SI or a 1999 Acura Intega GSR?

2) This car raves all about handling and on turns? Can you explain this to me better in your own words to someone who drives a 2001 Acura TL?

3) Low COG like a Porche 911. Will lowering the car with proper Coil overs/ etc alter the COG in any way? Good or bad?

When you drive the car rev the engine out. Most people I let drive my car shift before 4k. You need to be up at 5 when you gun it snd shift so it drops you st 5k again.

Who cares what others think. If you like it after a drive then buy it. :)

I'll answer a little better than zaptorque, although he is 100% correct in this matter. Test drive is your best bet.

The car is slow, but when you buy a sports car, you are buying the "the whole package" You will probably be quicker than both the civic and acura, but the car is VERY light. Once again, if you are worried about being fast, find another car. This car is not designed to be fast, it is designed to be balanced. Toyota has done it perfectly. The interesting thing is that my wife's 07 civic 2 door feels like a pig after driving my FR-S.

As far as coilovers are concerned, you have them on all 4 corners from the factory on the twins. If you are talking about adjustable coilovers, zaptorque is once again correct. It really depends on what you have planned for the car

1. It's not "fast" in the sense that you're going to outrun a muscle car with twice the HP on a flatrack but once you get that little engine going, it's fun no matter what.

2. Listen to suave, this thing is balanced. As such, it handles turns like a champ.

3. 'Nuff's been said on this one.

The car is a dog. It's mini-van slow. If you are between the ages of 16-22, you will find it uncool.

i bought it because i loved it at the first curve, its just a matter of making it faster slowly but surely... if you like it but its just too slow, put a turbo in it your self, that simple

1. This car is slow compared to other sports cars. It is about as fast as my old stock 2006 Honda Civic Si, which is definitely faster than a '99 Civic Si. (Stock B16s be mad overrated, yo)

2. It handles SO MUCH better than my 2006 Civic Si with upgraded suspension. No comparison between the two cars in this area.

3. Lowering a car will probably lower the COG a bit... But most things I've read say that a .8" drop is about the best you can do, any more will hurt the handling without other serious suspension mods.

I notice the same thing with my 07 tC, feels sloppy and huge now after getting used to my FR-S. Even though the tC only weighs 100lbs more than the FR-S...

If you lower it a bunch you'll be scraping every speedbump and driveway transitions.
It's low to begin with and has little body sway. Skidpad testing is the way to evaluate cornering traction.

The only meaningful thing I can add is on #2, compared to just about everything you listed (except maybe the Integra, idk) the main difference you will feel is how FLAT it goes around corners. The car doesn't roll over like you are used to, it gives the driver confidence to push the car a little further and you'll quickly realize that the dynamics of the Toyobaru mean that the chassis is designed to stick to the ground, the car does exactly what you tell it to do almost on a telepathic level.

This car sucks bro don't buy it. Get that stang bro. Mad props. You lift? :P

Unless you are smitten by the looks, ( 6/10 on my scale... meh...) the car makes no sense on paper. Minivans and Camrys ARE going to leave you in the dust. Problem is compounded by the fact that the car seems to act as a challenge to a certain demographic when they see it.

But do yourself a favour and go drive it. There is a lot I am willing to live with (or without) for a car that has the handling properties of this car.:burnrubber:
