BUY THE FR-S ... ((So I can buy the BRZ))

I so wish most people will just buy the FR-S because its cheaper
with Scion Pure-pricing... the lower end price car..

I would much rather pay MORE for the top of the line model.
my co-worker had a G35.. modded the heck out of it
then SOLD it for cheap to buy a NISMO Z370 ...

I am gonna go the same route by trading in my VW..
for the BRZ Limited ((I am not gonna wait for the STI verison))

What does people buying the FRS have to do with you getting an BRZ. Their will plenty of BRZ's for you to choose from with people buying them or not.

If by your statement you mean that the demand for the BRZ will be less if more are buying the FRS, then I think that is wishful thinking. I just got off the phone with my local Subaru dealer to get put on the preorder list and I can tell you based on their comments, the demand for the BRZ is high. People flocking to FRS is not going to change that. I am with you on the purchase of a limited BRZ and my dealer thought they may be able to start taking orders late Feb / earlier March with a 7-9 week turnaround.

Edit: they also stated the did not think the VIP program would be honered since this was a first year car with high demand. (I'm still gonna try)

Did they actually put you on a list? Our local dealers around here (All 6 in a 50 mile radius) are not doing any list or deposit holds - but all seem to be under the same understanding that they will begin to do so in Feb when the orders start rolling in.

I wonder if it is a Subaru America thing, to only allow preorders when the actual order can be placed?

Giccin. If that is the case, then I have a favor to ask of you. Could you get that in writing in the form of an email from the sales person with contact info and dealership name. I would like to forward that on to my local FL dealership for leverage.

Thanks.

Yes they have an informal list going and I also know one of the lead mechanics at the dealership, who is their resident BRZ expert. So I will continue to ping him in email as we get closer to the release date in order to keep my name near the top of the list.

Just curious. How is he an expert when the car isn't even out yet?

Hmm, maybe I need to keep pestering them... or perhaps come up with a more persuasive way to entice them to provide me with the first one in Charlotte...

In terms of keeping up to date on all the news, similar to the info you find here. I have called several other dealerships in a 100 mile radius who are totally clueless. so maybe expert was a bad choice of words, rather that he seems to be the most informed compared to all the dealerships in my immediate area.
