Jack/stand system
 

Hey everyone,

First time thread posting here. I was wondering what jack/stand system you all prefer for working on your FR-S's? Figured I'd ask the community before I find myself between a hard place and a 2,800lb car. Also figured you guys would know something reasonably priced but still reliable.

I prefer the flat tops. I recently bought Esco jacks but I used harbor freight jacks before with no issues, then again if you have an issue you're probably dead lol

I read the same review. And ended up with the same jack stands. They're freakin awesome. :happyanim:

Definitely digging the Esco flatheads, especially since the handbook recommends that you use a jack with a circular head (I think). Regardless, it seems like a solid system.

You want something short...my 2.5 ton HeinWerner BARELY fits under the car stock. No hope with any lowering springs or front lip. Currently investigating a low profile replacement.

You can't drive onto a 2x4 to get enough clearance? Thats what I do. Its not elegant, but it works.

Do you have these? They don't look like they would work with our cars but it does say that they accommodate low profile cars.

Problem for us is that our cars have a long overhang. Hoping for a cheap alternative to race ramps and a less ghetto alternative to my current setup with 2x8's hah.

I had a jack fail on me years ago, now I don't like ramps, 2x4s, or the like. That said, it's for sale for local pickup if you want it!

The point of having a jack is to not need ramps, dammit!

wow that floor jack is super cheap... something like that here in my city would be at least 200 dollars =(

I got this. It has been amazing. No 2x4 needed and it should hold two of our cars. Best $100 I have spent it a while.
