Deposit for FRS

Hey All,

Just a heads up that King's Scion in Mason, OH (just outside Cincinnati near King's Island) is accepting deposits on FRSs. Not sure if others are yet, but they probably are. They wanted $500, and they write up the contract as "subject to test drive", so you can back out when the car shows up if you don't love it, don't like the price, etc. I put mine down a week ago today.

Take care,
Brett

Out of curiosity, are you planning on the FRS to be your DD?

I just want to make sure I'm not the only one in Ohio with a FRS/BRZ as a DD.

Why would you be the only one in all of Ohio DDing a FRS/BRZ?

And even if you are, why not? You'd be unique and that's cool!

Yes this will be my DD. 99.9% of its life will be back and forth to work or the grocery store. I'm old and boring now it turns out. The other 0.1% will be fun stuff like auto cross :)

Well, I didn't actually think I'd be the only one, I was just trying to make conversation...

Hmmm, I work in Mason and I can see the kings dealership from the parking lot. I might have to come in a little early tomorrow.

Bret, you sound just like me! LOL
...and up here in the GTA (greater Toronto area) they will also take a deposit,
even though they told me June is best case but SEPTEMBER is more likely (>_<)

...and I think I'll be seeing as many FR's around as Genesis coupes (which is rarely)
too many of us need 4 doors these days and few of us have 3 car garages!

Sounds good to me. I plan on driving this as a daily as well (in Texas). Got pics of your Miata?

Another Exige owner! :happyanim:

I'll be DD'ing my FT86 in MI; no big deal with a set of snow tires.

Brett,

I have the first FRS on order at Dry Ridge Scion. I live in Florence and, while Kerry is right around the corner from me, I hate them with a passion and will drive 25 min south to Dry Ridge. I'm getting the first Asphalt or Whiteout with a manual trans. Deposit was placed on 12/1/11.

I'm hoping to get the car in May, rather than the expected June delivery date, in which case it will spend 5 straight days on the track at Mid-Ohio ;)

Sweet! Perhaps we'll see each other at an auto cross or some such thing.

I got a call from Scion last week, and I'm pretty excited to say that I was picked from the waiting list for the first 86 program. Still not sure when it will arrive or how much it's going to cost, but I'm excited all the same.

I'll be DD-ing the FR-S as well... I'm basically combining my DD Kia and the Weekend / Date night / Track car Audi into one car that will do both, on a budget.

Does anyone know if there will be a long wait to order these if we just wait for when they come available before we pull the trigger?

P.S. ^^^ yes, its a run-on sentence, but I'm lazy and its late... so pretend there's a period in there.

Theories abound, but I'm pretty sure no one really knows. I guess we'll see when they show up. When I put my deposit down it was subject to test drive, so if I didn't like the car or whatever I would get my $500 back, so if you're really itching to get one go put a deposit down. On the other hand, a bit of a wait won't kill you either :)
