Opposed Asphalt build
Ok, I didn't think I was going to do one of these, but its a rainy day and i'm bored. Plus, I am starting to get some of the parts in for my FRS and getting it ready for spring, so I thought this would be a great place to show you guys the progress instead of opening a thousand threads :)
I will apologize in advance for the photos. I mostly have cell pics for the moment, but I promise I will get some better shots once the weather gets better. Lets see, I purchased it on June 4th with 150 miles on it. http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...02s2k/frs1.jpg First I got a base line dyno done around 1200 miles to see what kind numbers I was starting with. http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...2k/frsdyno.jpg Next came the very first mod. I went with the Ecutek tune by Visconti and currently running the 93 pumpgas tune. Now, this was the very first version of that tune, I think I am on version 4 now??? http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps92aea0b1.jpg After the tune, came the AFE intake and Perrin crank pulley. http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...75060952_n.jpg Today, 3/9, my exhaust finally came in and got that installed tonight. I ended up going with the Tsudo header back. I absolutely love it! For me, it is the perfect sound. Its pretty deep, but very subtle. No drone at all, especially when you are just cruising at normal throttle, but just the right tone under heavier acceleration. Plus, its a nice clean look. At $600 shipped for a header back, I couldn't beat it. http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd5cc4281.jpg This Tuesday I am heading up to Fullblown to have my Hotchkis lowering springs installed. I will post pictures after it's complete. I also have sitting in my garage a set of Mach-V Awesome's 17x9 in gunmetal which I am waiting for the snow to melt to install. I am extremely giddy to get these on and see how they look on the asphalt. I still need tires, so if anyone has recommendations pass them on. Thats it for now! |

Update: 3/28
Hey guys! Finally got my wheels and tires put on since its actually starting to be spring here in MN. They turned out perfect! It's exactly the look I was going for. These are the 17x9 Mach V Aweomes in gunmetal. The color is pretty dang close to the Asphalt color. The car is lowered on a set of Hotchkis springs, about a 1" drop. Sorry, no awesome photographer here, just a point and shoot with an old camera. I will get some pro ones done this summer when its nice out. Cheers http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd8bd2638.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd28e2caa.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd6e8c738.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps22a76fae.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps23bfd7f7.jpg |
Looking good!

Loving those wheels man! Can you provide a link?
|
looks great. I love the Asphalt color. Did those tires and wheels balance out well? I've got the Direzza DZ101 as well and a little vibration 70 mph and up.
|
why did you decide to get the tune before the intake? wont you have to get it retuned

Another small update:
Well, spring is finally starting to show up after a few nasty snow storms in April...
My RevWorks UEL header should be arriving in a week or two, and I just ordered Visconti's E85 tune this morning. I plan on participating in MAP's Boost for Boobies dyno day on May 5th. Should have E85 numbers by then, not sure if the header will arrive on time, but I will make sure to add updated dynos. |

Update 5/7

Header looks great! I'm trying to decide which header to buy myself. I'm looking forward to your Dyno results and your thoughts on the sound level without a cat.
