Winter's back to Summers

I'm going to preface this and say, as well as all of you, living in Canada I understand that the weather can change in an instant until about May.

However, due to the beautiful day outside today(Southern Ontario)it got me thinking. After giving my car a quick wash in the coin up stations, I started thinking about Summer Rims and Tires (and waxing) and just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on when they make the change back to summers.

Just for good measure take a look at the pics! Not the greatest clean job (those coin op places are very difficult to use because the overhead hose hits your car unless you use one hand to hold the brush and one hand to hold the hose.)

I feel your pain... I wanted to go to summers last weekend and then we got a big dump so I'm glad I didn't.

I will probably look at the two week forecast and if it looks decent that's when I swap.

Alberta is different than Ontario though.

"look at the two week forecast" ? you're kidding right? you know you're lucky if the forecast is accurate for the next TWO DAYS.

It all depends on what your summer tires are. I've got Dunlop ZII's on the way, but they won't be on until temperatures are consistently above 10*. If you're running all seasons or less extreme summer tires you're probably good once the temps are consistently above 0* and there's no risk of anything freezing up again.

That said, you're probably better off with the winter wheels/tires until all the gravel and sand is cleaned up off the roads as well, less crap flying around to make a mess of the wheels.

I'm waiting until we get at least two weeks in a row of temperatures 10 degrees or higher

Planning to switch to summers later this week.

Don't you have two hands?

(If you don't, then I apologize in advance for the bad joke.)

Soon as the snow is completely gone which in Ottawa should be around September. Seriously though, Probably the week of March 24th or until the 14 day says no snowfall.
