So, Long Island...

I'm curious, are there any twisties on this wretched peninsula, or are overcrowded highways, and residential roads littered with 4-way stops on every corner all I have to look forward to?

Thinking maybe the Prius was a better choice. Either that or trip over the GWB...;)

Take a nice relaxing ferry ride to CT and then head north.

Fixed that. :(

Jersey will only cost me $25!

whitefrs: that site was not intuitive at all. It kept giving me events, not places. Maybe it's better on a desktop...

Two words.

Suffolk County.

You'll thank me later.

That's where I'm at! Where, though? Unfortunately I'm in one of the top 5 least desirable places in Suffolk (wanna guess where?!) and not really familiar with the area just yet.

Lots of twistie roads in the east end

Like Wading River 25ish area by all the farms, or further up by the vineyards? I did drive through there to take the ferry once, but that was just a big one-laned stretch of frustration, IIRC.

I enjoy carving the hills in Huntington & Northport.

25A? I go down that strip regularly, it's a nice little sprint when there's no traffic around. Plenty of good eats around that route too. I live in that area, never saw another FRS/BRZ though!

You can by the vineyards where the ferry is but you have to time it correctly or you'll get stuck in traffic. I've had many days where i was and was not stuck in traffic, fall is key in that area.

Yeah, around 25A. There's a few hilly loops you can do over there... in Northport, Waterslide Rd -> Eaton's Neck Rd -> Ocean Ave and in Huntington, Washington Dr -> Fleet's Cove Rd -> Cove Rd. But if there's other cars, it kinda sucks.

Be careful in Eaton's Neck though, that road is always being speed trapped by Asharoken cops.

Ocean is a nice little road, watch out for blind driveways.
