for the AT owners, custom CF paddle shifters
So I love using my paddle shifters, but sometimes they are too short and miss them. Not to mention they are kinda puny looking.
I know high end super sports cars have CF paddles shifters from the factory but I am going to custom make the shifters with a Portland CF fabricator company. My plan is to have custom stripes with our car color around the edge, (also no stripe option) and a glossy or flat looking CF paddle shifter that is much bigger so it is easily reached. And they will look bad ass. I personally will have my SWP striped color on them for extra cost, and is in the process of making them. This will not be a complete replacement of the shifter, but rather an attachment to make them bigger. They will still rotate with the steering wheel and not stay put like some high end vehicles or a $2000 replacement. This is an example with the red stripe, CF paddle shifters: http://www.maseratilife.com/forums/a...rs_detail3.jpg This process is just starting, and was seeing if people will be interested in purchasing them since I will probably make multiple of them, doesn't make sense to make just one after creating a mold. |
Looks like the same ones from a 458..

Automatic dudes... spending loads of money for carbon fiber shifters... Oh you guys

interested... do you guys know if you can do a steering wheel swap and still be able to keep the paddle? when you connect the adapter and quick release. i haven't see anyone do it yet...

Could you post more pictures of the stripping matching various body colors when you're able to? I know that asphalt can look similar to carbon fiber, so I'd like to get an idea of what that color would look like on the striping versus just going with no striping.
This is a great idea, and a unique little mod - I'm a tad envious of all the aftermarket choices, and customization options MT owners have for their shifter knobs, so this is kind of cool. Anyway, you've piqued my interest - keep us posted  |

Nice!!!!! I would definitely pop out money for those. I don't really use the paddles much due to how short they are.

Yea man i think Wonderbar or whatever (Carl) was gonna take over the project since I don't have the time to pursue it, and most CF companies didn't see the profit here. I wanted to go in it with him, but he is pretty defiant on doing this on his own.
I may just make something on my own just for my own car since most manufacturers are planning on making a aluminum paddle shifters, and I wanted CF. I think I saw some tutorials on YouTube to make your own CF stuff, maybe a good project if someone wants to help me. |
