FA20 Turbo?

Subaru FA engine
(Japanese: Subaru FA engine) The FA was developed from the FB engine, however, efforts to reduce weight while maintaining durability were the main goals of the FA engine. While the FA and FB engine share a common platform, the FA shares very little in dedicated parts with the FB engine, with a different block, head, connecting rods, and pistons. The FA also features direct injection (from Toyota) and Subaru AVCS variable valve timing system. It is used in the Subaru BRZ, and is identified by a Toyota engine family code known as the 4U-GSE, which is installed in the Toyota 86 and the Scion FR-S.[6] According to Subaru, 0W-20 oil is recommended.
Bore: 86 mm
Stroke: 86 mm
Displacement: 1,998 cc
Compression Ratio: 12.5:1
Power: 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) at 7,000 RPM
Torque: 20.9 kg·m (205 N·m; 151 lb·ft) at 6,400-6,600 RPM

(A version with direct fuel injection and twin-scroll turbocharger was introduced in 2012 to the Japanese market for the Legacy GT DIT (direct injection turbo) sedan, and the Legacy GT DIT Touring Wagon.):burnrubber:

Master of Copy'n'Paste, eh. Shame you're not master of the search function.

I would still love to see how they make an almost 1:1 ration of HP:TQ

I remember reading an expert engine specific analyzation on CarDomain, not sure if you guys are familiar, but it's this place where only car experts are allowed to gather, but I read specifically that the F'EH20 motor could never even dream of being boosted due to the high-compression. Which I assume is something important.

Fa20. Is already boosted at 12cr. But the car makers are happier at lower cr

Boost...

Worth noting that the "ratio" of torque in lb-ft to power in hp being close to unity doesn't have any real physical meaning other than to indicate that peak power isn't terribly far above the rpm where lb-ft and hp are always equal: 5252rpm.

It'd be cool to see people start putting this kit into the FRS/BRZ, but the boost would have to come way down in order to accommodate the high compression ratio.

This wasn't visioned with a turbo.

I would'nt doubt if the japanese tuners are looking for that specific legacy and swapping out the turbo.

Rather keep her NA with bolt ons, lighter weight, and cheap E85/91 ECU tune. This weekend I might be trying out E85 for the first time in my FR-S:thumbup:

One of these engines would be massively better than any of the bolt-on kits out there, but I think there'd be clearance issues under the engine where the turbo is placed.

Nope, they're not

Guess my post was lost with the move.

That car was a concept by Toyota?
Never seen it before.
