+38 is pretty much the same as +40, pretty close to each other, 2mm won't make much of a difference in appearance

What should tire size be?

sorry about the delay, I'd suggest coilovers for that setup

18x9.5 +40 will hit on the inside in the front on a stock strut setup

225/40 F 245/35 R Hankook V12
Plasti dipped black, glossfier, then wax spray.
