75-80 Dragway

Anyone wanna come out and test their twin or other car on the drag strip? Test and Tune nights at 75-80 in Monrovia are $30 for the whole night (or, at least, they were last year), and you can run as many times as you can get through. Anyone who wants can come hang out for about half that I think, and can bring canned beer. Be warned: It is redneck country.

Check off in the poll when you want to go!

Here is the address and Google Maps link:

I'll probably only be there if others are going too.

I used to drag in high-school in my fox body, but it's been awhile. I think I could maybe do about a 14.7 if I drive it just right, but the car doesn;t feel much faster than that.

It's been awhile too so my lights will probably suck. I'd think about coming out to give it a try though, was fun when I used to do it.

Never dragged in my life...but rednecks and canned beer sounds great. Could only do a Saturday though.

The best I could get was a 15.0, but my lights weren't great. 14.7 sounds about doable with good tread on primacy's, but I think you would need close to perfect timing.

Its fun use to be big into it back in the day but after a few runs depending on the car it just mad heat soak so a cool day does help. Good to try once or twice highly recommend

I'll hang out with you @thejevans . Once Brady's car is finished with his turbo setup, I'll have to take the reigns of my car every time. Btw, we'll be at Capitol Raceway this weekend... with drag radials. The best times for the car were 12.2s 1/4, 2.0s 60ft, and 126.76mph trap. It's all traction related.. so practicing is the only thing going to make this car faster.

Opening night is tonight! I'll be there when I get off of work (I'll get there around 6:30-7). Price to go tonight is $20 to run test & tune for the whole night, and $10 to come watch. Who else is coming?!

fredk 04-05-2013 02:37 PM

It's a lot of fun, but try to get there early. Once they start the races the test n tune folks get about a run an hour, you can get four in the first hour if you're early.

It is definately an interesting cultural experience.
