axle back is just the rear muffler portion.

cat-back is mid-pipe and muffler portion

No downpipe or uppipe on our car, so anyone using those terms is confused since those terms are specific to systems with turbos, as you've mentioned.

Catback is everything behind the frontpipe.

Axelback is everything behind the midpipe.
