New FRS owner Syracuse NY

Hello FT86CLUB. Just came across this thread and figured i should introduce myself since i have been lurking for a month or two now. I purchased my FRS on 3/1/13. Its my first new car. I'm 25 and have built a 98 Subaru 2.5RS and a SR20DET 240sx. So the new car game in a whole different thing. I intend to race the FRS through Track Masters and also participate in local AutoX events. Unfortunately my winter rat died in February so i have to drive the FRS the remainder of the winter. Intentions are to keep this car as clean and street-able as possible while enjoying track days and some spirited driving. Coil overs, rims and tires are looking like my first major modification later this month.

Welcome and congrats on the car. I went to school at Syracuse for 2 years and miss it, for the most part.

I do not miss stepping outside in -20F weather and having all the moisture on your face freeze instantaneously, however.

While I was up there I hug out with bunch of CNY Subaru club guys, good group of people but I haven't spoken to any in years. Google them and see if they're still around if you want to find some local BRZ owners.

Wondered if the Scoob guys would frown upon having the scion badge even though its the same car and mostly Subie.

I'm good friends with a lot of the CNY Subaru guys. They are still around an bigger than ever. They were pretty cool with me when i owned my 240sx. If its Subie powered, i'm sure a badge isn't going to change their mind.

A meet would be great. I've only seen one on the road since they have been released.

I now know of only 5 in the area, you are the first I've seen post. Saw a silver brz, grey frs, blue brz, my black frs and now yours.

Took some pics today at my favorite driving spot. Then installed my 6k HIDS, LED blinkers, license plate bulbs, reverse lights and dome light. Also removed the FRS badge.

Waiting for my Eibach springs, HKS drop in and intake inlet.

Enjoy

Hi, I'm from Rochester, but I just picked up my Suburu BRZ from Syracuse yesterday! I drove an hour and a half to Syracuse because they didn't have the Dark Grey Metallic color I wanted here.

Gotta set up a CNY meet up.

Takumi788 04-09-2013 10:54 PM

Do u guys ever hang out at tim hortons on Thompson road? A pretty good crew of respectable non-street racers hang out there on friday and saturdays when it starts getting warmer.
