I'd go for diminished value for that much damage on a brand new car. Seriously. Get it appraised, request the money from them, and send a letter of intent to sue in small claims on X date if you don't receive it.

+1 Get everything you can. Dumba** UPS driver should've been paying attention.

Dam that sucks, sorry to see that. And this was a professional UPS driver? Maybe he should consider being a mailman instead and get a route where he only has to walk so he doesn't mess up anymore cars!

But seriously, glad you weren't hurt, and I'm sure the shop will take good care of your baby and fix it right for you.

Sorry to see that. I have the same color, and that hurt me right in the feels. Hopefully everything gets sorted out for you.

FYI there is a reason why red cars typically have the highest insurance rates.
They are the hardest to see as red is the weakest color in the spectrum the visible spectrum.
Been down the road with 3 cars in the past. All have been hit, by people that said they could not see it. At least there is science to support it.

Glad you weren't hurt!

Fortunately UPS is probably pretty good about sorting these things out. Otherwise it would be a PR disaster.

Hey bud, I'm in your same shoes. My car is in the shop right now from some lady rear ending me at 50 mph. Luckily the damage doesn't look bad but the frame was damaged so I'll be driving a rental until next month... Hope you're luckier than me. Tell your baby I said get well soon. ;)

If you're lucky and UPS replace the car for you, make sure they don't toss it over the fence.

More like "Show me on the FR-S doll where the bad UPS man hit you?" >.>

I'm trying to visualize how this happened - were you in the right lane, and he started merging in from the left lane and hit your rear quarter panel then kept on going all the way to the front? Or were you parked on the side of the road and he just sideswiped all the way through?

I'm quite sure that the driver is telling the truth: he did not see your car. You see, you need to look to see something. I think he did not look, so he did not see.

I'm glad to hear you're doing fine. I hope you have a good body shop and get full compensation. Good luck with this unfortunate situation. I feel for you.

So then why do police (at least in the US) use red lights on their cars? The simple answer is that red also draws the eye to the source, and the blue lights alert you that its there.

So why is it harder to see red cars like our own? From what I understand, they are easier to see when you are looking at them, however it is much easier to miss them when its in your peripheral vision (less color sensitivity). I'm no expert, just relaying personal experience, so I could be wrong. But if Red cars were harder to see across the board, why do you have urban legends that say that red cars are pulled over by cops more often? :iono:
