Muffler delete on track (melted bumper?)
Has anyone run the Nameless muffler delete on track (single exit)?
I just want to make sure there won't be a melt down. I'm not that concerned about the aero changes, I just want my bumper to stay pretty. |
I ran mine all last summer, including roadtrips of an hour plus at 75 mph. No problems whatsoever. Never heard of anyone having a problem with a muffler delete pipe, just with removing the muffler and putting nothing in its place.

We've had no problems with the Berk muffler delete while we used it.
We have seen some guys melt bumpers off though using, literally, a muffler delete (removing the muffler without a replacement to guide the exhaust gas) and with broken mufflers... |
Thanks guys. Just making sure.

as long as there is no leak at the flanges a muffler delete is safe. =)

You guys think I will be ok DDing for one day without a muffler (and no delete)?

Definitely no
On a different car I removed the muffler tips once after an on track incident and kept going and it only took a few laps to melt the bumper cover and get everything covered in black soot |
ran all last year, 40+ track days, and not a single problem.

Some tracks may have sound restrictions. Driver beware.

ran at LimeRock Saturday with their 86 db limit. no issues

the one I got from nameless pokes out a solid 3 inches from the bumper...never had any heat issues while running it.

Mine came off the rear hanger at the track, it rested against the side of the muffler and melted it a little.
The rear piece on the trackpipe didnt have a stay on it, so it was able to pull it self free from the hanger. I've since put a wee tack on it, and it holds firm now. |
